  1. With this the Royals will almost certainly have a higher payroll than the Chicago Cubs. I don't think he'll be an everyday guy by the end of the contract, but he should still be able to fake it at several positions that he's not a black hole in their budget.
  2. Fujikawa to the 60 day will open up a spot for some NRI.
  3. Seems like he makes the team if Olt doesn't win the starting job no? Probably but hopefully Barney isn't locked in at 2B either and hopefully he will be in contention to take the job from him. I think Barney's probably a better bet to produce full-time than Roberts
  4. Seems like he makes the team if Olt doesn't win the starting job no?
  5. He had two bad passes. You can't hold Marshall and get in a position to make an interception and then say that was a bad throw. But yeah he had two bad passes. And his idiot play against Minnesota that cost us the game. Lets not forget that. Because that was as dumb a decision as you'll ever see. Was that not a "mistake", but a clever ploy to get Kyle Long a reception? Nor his inability to throw a TD in the red zone unless his receiver has nobody within 5 yards of him. And yet, when Cutler has good passes bobbled by Earl Bennett or deflected on a fluke and picked off, it's his fault. It's not Earl's fault that Jay throws too hard while McCown gently places the ball in his receivers' hands. Maybe if Cutler would stop throwing the ball to nobody but Bennett and maybe look Alshon's way once or twice
  6. the new market inefficiency is being that guy who bought something on ebay for a dollar and sold it for two and then bought something for two and sold it for three and so on until he had a million bucks The Ricketts made their real money on one red paperclip
  7. As tedious as this is becoming, this is just fantastic.
  8. Goodness, no. Could you imagine a guy like a Dillon Maples or Shawon Dunston being of any value to another team? That offer is one prospect and lottery tickets. Loser talk. You don't operate under "oh no, if the worst case scenario happens we'll miss out on this middling return" I ride it out and ideally this isn't another 96 loss stinkburger next year so Samardzija is actually interested in sticking around. And if it is, then oh well, you're stuck with a good starter for another year. Maybe we'll try in 2015 and it'll be nice to have a good player.
  9. If TOR pitching is so hard to find, a guy who's had success in the majors with potential to be a TOR pitcher should probably command quite a bit
  10. That's a silly thing to claim. For one thing if A&M was in the Big 12 last year they'd have had to trade out one of their tomato can victories out of conference for an actual opponent. To say nothing of all the other variables. You mean these teams? Wofford, Buffalo, Louisiana-Monroe (twice), Tulsa, and yes, Notre Dame? Those are the nonconference opponents for this year's Big 12 BCS teams. I believe his point is the SEC has 8 conference games to the Big 12's 9.
  11. One of them for Shark would be [expletive]. Pound sand AA Would it? Both are top 50 prospects, Sanchez may be top 30. I'd be fine with either, assuming there's another useful piece or two involved. Sanchez is going to be a top 30 prospect without ever clearing 2 K/BB above rookie ball?
  12. One of them for Shark would be [expletive]. Pound sand AA
  13. kendrick perkins, a draft pick or trade exception and perry jones, ok nice What if you make it Jeremy Lamb. I heard he's the next James Harden, and Perkins will be an expiring contract for the 2015 offseason after Rose recovers from whatever his next injury is.
  14. A Big 12 team like them would be lucky to win 1 game in the SEC!
  15. No? People loved him after Cutler was a huge [expletive] by not playing when he couldn't move in the NFC Championship game. Then they had to actually watch Hanie in the regular season the next year.
  16. For what? Best I can find as an expiring contract is Shawn Marion, so you get a 1st rounder from Dallas for him and some cap space?
  17. Kind of odd that Julio Borbon didn't make the 38 man AAA roster
  18. Regarding sneaky's Ruggiano tweet from earlier, I'd forgotten he went on to use that a few more times: http://cdn.fangraphs.com/not/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Ruggiano-Green-Peace.jpg http://cdn.fangraphs.com/not/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Ruggiano-Branson.jpg http://cdn.fangraphs.com/not/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Ruggiano-high-school.jpg http://cdn.fangraphs.com/not/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Ruggiano-WWE.jpg
  19. Barring a trade, I think we're done adding guaranteed contracts on offense. Kottaras, Murphy, Ruggiano locked as bench, Minor league contract guys, Vitters, McDonald, Watkins, Olt(agreed he's starter or AAA) fight for last 2 spots. I can't see a scenario where Jackson makes the team barring ebola outbreak in the OF. I'd give Szczur a better chance. I thought I read it elsewhere, but maybe not, but we don't really NEED more than one backup IF. You'd prefer it, but with Valbuena covering 2B, Barney covering SS, and Murphy covering everywhere there is "depth" as far as shuffling pieces goes.
  20. Josh McCown is a good guy so he only throws to good guys like Alshon. Jay Cutler's a bad guy so he throws to fellow bad guy BMarsh. Also don't look at Banedon's post.
  21. yyyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup Mostly so he can run a red zone offense without the Bears crowd making too much noise. http://thenewsportsguru.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/cutler-mouth2-10-28-12.gif

  23. Gavin Floyd would be a Scott Baker situation. Had TJS on May 7th
  24. Darnell McDonald has a career 117 wRC+ vs. LHP, can get out of bed without pain and won't cost any of the few dollars we have.
