  1. Yeah re-reading it, I guess you're right. Still doesn't make sense why Rosscup wasn't active for the first game. But it's very screwy if that's the interpretation that just the night game had to be scheduled 48 hours in advance. So if today was a 12:05 scheduled start, you couldn't use a 26th man? What the hell is the logic in that?
  2. What does the bold mean? That's a really odd way to put that. I'd guess it prevents them from scheduling a night game to complete the double header on days where there's a day game on the schedule already. That doesn't really make any sense and I can't imagine that this situation would ever come up. It seems pretty clear to me what it's saying. If the doubleheader was shceduled for a month from now you can use a 26th man, if it's a case like today's DH you can't. Assuming the basis for this is, so no one team is at a disadvantage should their AAA team be on the other side of the country with 12 hours to get the guy into town. I'm guessing Blake Parker got sent down and whoever reported it is off. It doesn't make sense for Rosscup to only be on the roster for the 2nd game. ETA: Muskat is the only one I see reporting it, so it's almost certainly wrong in some way.
  3. I agree that all of what he's saying is ridiculous...that said, I wouldn't go quite that far. Of all three being long term starters for the Cubs? I don't think it's that much of a stretch. I'm pretty sure those 3 have a better than 0% chance of becoming starting big league outfielders.
  4. This isn't the butt-sniffing music thread.
  5. I'm confused why somebody had respect for Michael Kay.
  6. Front office 0-for-1 with a K. A backwards K
  7. Finally the SEC will accept Vandy as one of their own.
  8. Apparently not to the Angels who had a trade in place for him with Dan Haren coming to the Cubs. The Cubs backed out because they didn't like Haren's medicals. Haren was bad last year, but had a team option that the Cubs could've declined, saving them Marmol's dumbass 9.8M contract.
  9. Huh? Hmm, thought he'd been starting LF, but I guess he's been in CF for all his OF starts, and Sweeney alongside him only the one time.
  10. Marmol was essentially released, and had some value that offseason(or in the least could've been dumped for Haren, only to NT Haren and get out from his contract.)
  11. David Hale is currently in the Braves rotation and was rumored to be the return for Gregg. He's a back-end guy, but it as Kevin freakin Gregg
  12. Cuonzo Martin to Cal for some reason.
  13. I'm at least on board with playing him every day now, especially when the apparent alternative are non-factors like Ryan Kalish or Emilio Bonifacio
  14. Indiana's '14-'15 takes another hit as Gary Harris turns pro.
  15. I just don't like how many Mariano Rivera references there are going to be.
  16. It's a lot easier to avoid hangovers when you only pitch once every 5 days.
  17. So they expected all along that they wouldn't get him...yet alloted pretty much the entire offseason budget towards him. I don't wanna PTR, but...PTR
  18. Or in "Lost." I just figured he had a debilitating cocaine habit.
  19. Ryno's gonna make Utley run so many laps when he sees his hat sideways
  20. Yep, it's only the 6th time the Lakers have missed. It's only the 2nd time the Celtics and Lakers alone have missed.
