  1. Ankiel is like Rob Deer, Gorman Thomas and Dave Kingman, all rolled into one. Only with more coke.
  2. Way more a younger Sosa throw. Jones spiked his.
  3. The more Soto hits, the more it underscores Hendry's inability to judge talent. You're right, he'll sit. Well, Hendry did roster him before most thought he should've been. His strength is in his scouting. His problem is overvaluing minor to near worthless attributes. Well, I'm no scout, but IMO, it's always a good thing to have a catcher who can get the ball to second base w/out using a cut-off man.. I should clarify my post, it looks confusing reading it. He added Soto to the 40 man roster before most thought he should've been. Soto definitely went up to the 25 man after everyone thought, but that has to fall partly on Piniella.

  5. Matt seems to pop it up a lot. Whenever he doesn't, it's a hit. So, just stop popping it up and you'll be the greatest hitter alive.
  6. There's definitely some doubt. Monroe may not see another chance all game. The game may be a blowout. He's also not as terrible out there as he's been so far.
  7. Line drive deflected off Aramis' glove right to Ronny for the out. nice, kind of reminiscent of when Aramis caught the ball that hit Prior's elbow? No, far less soul crushing.
  8. Craig Monroe will not get another start in CF for the Cubs.
  9. Cody Ransom is the starting SS for the Astros tonight. Cody Ransom.
  10. I figured he'd start, hes got good numbers vs Lilly in his career. Yay for mor 1st pitch swinging I LOVE IT. I was hoping for it after seeing the first stats, but I was afraid competence would sneak into Grady's brain.
  11. Brewers up 3-0 in the 1st. We HAVE to win today.
  12. Yay for Shea starting over at least 2 guys who are better than him.(Nomar, LaRoche)
  13. And somebody used the phrase "shot in the arm" when describing Ankiel's positive impact to the Cardinals. Poor choice of words. Or excellent choice of words. Cause ya know. Heroin.
  14. College basketball player (Allan Ray?) getting his eye ripped out of the socket anyone?
