  1. Lou, assuming we're getting another IBB throws worthless FOntenot out there.
  2. In tonight's show, the role of Lou Piniella will be played by Don Baylor.
  3. Way to do something with it Jacque!!
  4. Come on Lidge, help my fantasy team get a better draft pick!
  5. Efficient 2 innings by Howry throwing only 23 pitches.
  6. It's been said like 50 times in the past 3 weeks.
  7. Shocking. Why sac bunt in that situation when you know it will lead to Ramirez being IBB'd? The Ramirez walk isn't a terrible thing.
  8. Cmon Felix. You might not get to play next year without a bunt here.
  9. I'm really glad we're holding back our ace to face that pathetic band of losers.
  10. Soriano has a much better chance at a crap ab then does Ward. Just goes to show how "respected" Soriano is in the league. or how respected Ward is..that's the 7th intentional walk for Ward and he's only had 95 AB's this year. IBBs in the NL don't mean as much - don't know how many times he had a much weaker hitter/the pitcher's spot behind him. As evidenced by tonight's IBB.
  11. Up to 67th, think it's the best I've ever been in hacking mass. Pitching is what's killed me. A combined -9 from Shawn Chacon and Wandy.
  12. Re: Ties In your Big Ten for example, Wisconsin beats OSU, OSU beats Penn St., Penn St. beats Wisconsin. 3 teams, 1 loss, who goes to the conference championship. This reminds of the radical realignment plans that were floated around with baseball, only more radical.
  13. Agree with Snood, you've had this plan of making everyone join a conference for the past few years, and I've never seen a reason as to why it's a good idea. Nevermind that it's not remotely feasible to force a conference to take in other members.(Any particular reason the Big East wants to take a bunch of crappy-mid level teams in their conference? Oh and they get to lose South Florida too.) I assume your goal of this is to take the champions of each conference and seed them for the playoffs. So what happens when you have ties at the top of a conference? Why is it going to be enjoyable to watch the lower conference teams get the crap kicked out of them in the first round every year? What if another team wants to make the move up to IA? You just cap it at 120 and any school that grows or develops a good athletic program is just screwed?
  14. I(and others) said they were like 3 weeks ago.
  15. ND I believe also gets a guaranteed payout whether they make it or not. Something like 1.3M?
  16. Is there a particular reason we're holding Z back for the Cardinals? STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE CARDINALS
  17. The others are in primetime with no competition. Now I'm not going to argue that a matchup of 2nd C-USA team vs. 1st Sun Belt team is going to draw much away, but I certainly don't see the time these games being on making a difference.
  18. So we're all gonna go ahead and stay away from Josh Hancock here?
  19. and right now, trachsel is the 5th starter, leaving Marshall off the playoff roster Right, I think that will be the case. But I don't expect Trachsel and Marshall on the roster with Murton off. That's the comment I was responding to. ETA: I could conceivably see Marshall on too instead of Ohman. There could only be 1 of Ohman, Marshall, and Trachsel, unless you're thinking Kerry doesn't make the roster. Zambrano, Lilly, Marquis, Hill, Wuertz, Eyre, Wood, Howry, Marmol, and Dempster all would seem to be locks for a potential playoff roster. That would leave one spot. I personally believe Lou would want a 2nd lefty from the pen, and I personally believe he can't stand the site of Will Ohman which leaves Pignatiello or Marshall, which leaves Marshall.
  20. If Trachsel is on a short leash for this game, hopefully Marshall is ready in the bullpen to fill in any missing innings and receives a chance to earn his job back. Marshall is supposed to pitch in one of the games on Saturday, so I don't know how much he'd be used on Thursday. Kevin Hart will probably be available to pitch, unless Marquis flops tomorrow night. I think Trachsel is going to be used as long as possible with 4 games in 3 days against the Cards this weekend. Marshall is scheduled to pitch game 2 of the DH on Saturday, so he's not likely to be used out of the pen. I'd much rather see them go with Hart or Gallagher as a long man...or better yet...not need to use a long man... i just hope everyone is mentally preparing themselves for a playoff roster that includes Trachsel but not Marshall Disagree, they'd go with Marshall for a potential roster due to his leftiness.
  21. Yeah Alabama and ND I can definitely see, I can't squint hard enough to see how Nebraska could possibly be a better job.
  22. YOU Bob's been dropped, go ahead and start til you lose, Flames. what happened to Bob? did his wife eat him or something? Not according to his rants.
