Cal and Oregon today look nothing like Cal and Oregon from week 2. They'd both get rolled. UCLA hasn't had a 100% not awful QB since the ND game. Of those games I think Zona beats Iowa, USC beats OSU, and maybe Washington beats NU. Mount Carmel could beat Minnesota. Glenbard North would probably massacre them then.

What does that have to do with anything? They still played a weak schedule and got rewarded for it. You guys should have just taken 2 teams to add to the original 8. You think Texas and A&M were coming without Tech and Baylor? And a Big East fan preaching about conference size... :)

That guy! I love that Illinois is basically in a no-lose situation. Everyone expects them to get blown out, so they can only impress. People who think Illinois is going to get blown out either just hate Illinois or they don't follow Illinois or both. We were being blown out just once this season and it was the first game of the season. And we ended up losing by just 4. USC is playing well right now, but did anybody watch the USC/UCLA game? USC didn't look all that dominating to me. They looked much better against Arizona St. to me. If there was a Pac Ten vs Big Ten challenge in football, how many games do you think the Big Ten would win of the following? Maybe two or three, like they do in basketball vs the ACC. OSU vs. USC Illinois vs. ASU Mich vs. Oregon State Wisc vs. UCLA Penn State vs. Oregon Iowa vs. Arizona Indiana vs. Wash State Mich state vs. Stanford Purdue vs. California Northwestern vs. Washington Indiana vs. Best High school team in California Seriously? The Big 10 might win every one of those. I'd probably give the Pac 10 2 wins.

because he wants to take his third shot at signing a crappy rf solely because he hits left-handed. hendry's essentially been adding years to jeromy burnitz's original contract, just with different guys taking the money. You give him too much credit. JerOmy, Jacque, Cornelius, Shawn Green. -

I'm gonna enjoy Murton having a nice little career in the majors. It's sad it won't be with the Cubs. It's also sad that Hendry's backwards 17th century thinking will tell him it was still the right move no matter how good he hits...cause ya know...right handed.

That's just dumb. Rose Bowls don't come every day, and the odds in Vegas should have little to do with whether you go or not.

I know, I've felt a certain emptiness in the college football threads. Though the SEC arguments seem to have stepped up in its place. At least UI/IU basketball will always be there for me.

The very definition of focusing on what a player isn't. Yeah, Matt's a starting OF in the big leagues no doubt. But have you seen what side of the plate he swings from? EWWWW That series of quotes from Hendry are just phenomenal. "All we're focusing on is getting the best player...as long as he's left handed...and his value is tied to batting average...and he has to be fast"

no, that would just be lucky. It's irrelevant, since they'll lose all those games by healthy margins. If anybody would know about losing by healthy margins, you surely would :D Bah, Ball State totally should've beaten Illinois if you think about it. Just take all the incompletions from Davis and turn them into completions. Stupid mental errors.

They don't unless their school is playing in them. Another problem a playoff would solve. A lot of these meaningless bowls that only serve to boost the ego of programs and their fans would become early to mid round playoff games and many people would then have interest in them. But oh well. We're stuck with this crappy system because a playoff would "take kids away from their schoolwork." Unless you want to institute a 32 team playoff, then no.
