I'm gonna lose all the faith that I've slowly re-gained in Hendry if he makes some dumbass move like acquiring an averageish starter just cause he happens to be old.
In case anyone's wondering, there is about 2 weeks between now and the all star break. Apparently some people believe we're losing 5 games in the standings in the next 2 weeks. It's gonna really suck when we finish 25 games out at the end of the season.
Yeah, let's ignore their combine line of 4 IP, 5 Runs vs. us this year. Yeah lets use that small sample size and ignore what they've done the other 80+ innings they've thrown this year, or the numbers they've all put up during their careers. Yeah let's call the game over down by 1 run with 2 innings to go.
Kenny Williams has made some really good acquisitions for little to nothing(Ramirez's salary, Thornton, his pen in '05, Pierzynski's first contract, Uribe before he sucked, Quentin was a steal. Oh and Contreras.

Wrong What am I wrong about? He's gotta settle in He... shouldn't settle in? He can't settle cause he's too young and needs some experience. If we were talking about Paul Byrd, that'd be a different story.
Were you cringing Gallagher's last 5 starts as he put up a 2.83 ERA? No but still in terms of experience? Gallagher maybe a good pitcher in the future but he is only 22 and still inexperienced. Marshall is a total different story as he doesn't belong starting. Maybe I'm just frustrated the way the whole team is playing and you can't blame the injuries because other guys gotta step up. Should I bold his #s next time?? He's a decent pitcher now!! Maybe we'd be better with an experienced guy like Steve Trachsel.
Bonds would make a lot of sense as an August 31st signing for an NL team destined for the playoffs. You leave him on the bench to pinch hit, in key situations. When he walks you've got a huge roster in September to pinch run for him. You get him on the roster in time to make the playoff roster, where you only have 11 man pitching staffs, affording yourself a guy on the bench who does nothing but pinch hit once a game. Then if you make the World Series you have him as your DH.
That's just [expletive]. I wonder how good he would be if he had access to today's training methods? Well, the pitchers would have the same training methods.
I cant see how the astros would have to pay him after reading this. i also dont see how more teams dont get out of more contracts with this clause. I didn't see how the Pirates were gonna have to pay Derrek Bell after Operation Shutdown, but they did.
