  1. Frikkin awesome. I've already got this hat http://image.bizrate.com/resize?sq=160&uid=716577311&mid=142426 so I'm way ahead of you.
  2. Wah, wah wah, I'm a Cubs fan, it's what I come to expect, it just makes it easier on me, wah wah wah. It's absurd. You wanna freak out when Marmol puts the tying run in scoring position during a game, fine, that's somewhat reasonable. You people are freaking out because we're not up by 20 games. Oh you've been there before, you've seen what this team can do. No you haven't. I don't care if you're old as dirt and saw the 1969 team blow it. I don't care if you still wanna ESPNize your experiences with the '03 and '04 teams. None of those teams were as good as this team. Oh you've heard it all before, you know better, cripes then quit watching, you're obviously getting no enjoyment out of this at all.
  3. This is gonna be some real Princess Bride style manuevering with the cups to figure out if I'm telling the truth or not. I'm getting an Edmonds. You should too, it'll be adorable.
  4. Huge to get out of that inning quickly. Lilly should be able to go 6 now.
  5. As I've pointed out, that empty spot belongs to Gooz when he (presumably) gets activated in September. You need somebody else besides Chad Fox to make room for 2 rosterings. That's not even considering the possible rostering of Ceda, or the acquisition of another player in August. On the other side, Jake Fox and Adam Harben don't seem to have much use on the 40 man.
  6. And Soto plays the position on one end of the defensive spectrum, with Kosuke down near the other side.
  7. I think he was just making a little good fun out of the irony of the post and your name, not you individually... Nope, he was talking about badnews hasn't a good thing to say about a Cubs prospect since Pat Cline.
  8. a) Sort of. With their agreement they can only have so many night games a year. It only makes sense to put the few night games you can have during the week. It's a de facto agreement, cause the Cubs don't want to have a slew of Tuesday day games during the year like some people apparently believe happen.
  9. Jason Marquis will clear waivers. If a contending team loses a starter to injury, he may be a target.
  10. He actually looks a lot better this season. He was pathetic last year. Now he just looks like a run of the mill NL pitcher.
  11. The Pujols one was especially terrible because it was a late in a 1 run game. Shockingly, the Cardinals went on to win with(I believe) Pujols as the game tying run.
  12. He's not a regular and he only gets starts when he's in a position to succeed. And Joe Mather, the start of all this idiotic whining, has 74 ABs.
  13. The Cubs play day games all week when at home? What is it 1982? I thought this stupid excuse making would go away with Dusty.
  14. Dammit transposed the 1 and the 9 in my head. Still, suck it Cardinals.
  15. Somebody's going to have to be removed/60 day DLd to make room for Hill/random 3rd catcher assuming Gooz is activated. Depending on what Chad Fox's deal is (made up injury or actually hurt from pitching 6 innings), he could be 60 dayed, and Harben and Jake Fox are pretty worthless and prone to being DFAd.
  16. I'm not a doctor, but I believe it is quite possible for a blister to morph into an wound/open sore. "I'm beyond antsy," he said. "It's the (darndest) thing I've ever seen as far as skin. I can't explain it, and nobody here can explain it. I've been to several doctors, and I just haven't gotten any better. We tried just about everything we could think of and probably tried some things we shouldn't have. Time will be the best thing for it." Apparently several doctors can't explain it. No mention of a "popped blister" that just needs to heal. Instead it's "nobody can explain it." I'd be concerned if this was September, not now. He did pitch yesterday with a finger sleeve...note something one would expect with a "sore arm." We all know this "pitching yesterday" never happened.
  17. Exact # is something ~$219,000. Roughly 1/15th of what the Cards are paying.
  18. They better have them in stock on Saturday. Might have to pick up a Harden while I'm there.
  19. I think you still have a Dusty hangover. No, I'm not thinking Lou would play him every day. But as between Lopez and Cedeno as the backup SS, I see no reason to pick Lopez for the next 2 months. There's the fact that Lopez is a SS in name only.
  20. 20-11 over this stretch should be enough for a comfortable September.
  21. Pretty sure Jason Kubel just won somebody $25,000 from Subway with that HR.
  22. Effing Rothschild! Screwing up Hill's mechanics from 1500 miles away! Yeah, that's how mechanics work.
  23. I'm fairly certain Eyre isn't on the club come September. I'm guessing waiver wire trade.
