  1. Nobody's coveting anything. I'm (still) laughing at you guys making fun of the Angels as they steamrolled the AL last year because they gave up some middling prospects for Huston Street It's just silliness like the WHAT ARE THE DODGERS DOING thread? They're spending a lot of money that they have, how horrifying. I'm excited that we'll probably have some shitty $/WAR contracts on our books in the coming years.
  2. Nah, they're doomed forever because they have some guys lacking in surplus value. The only reason that isn't that big of a problem for them is that they happened upon the greatest example of surplus value and the greatest young player any of us will probably ever see so lol. I'm not gonna say there was no skill to winding up with him, but the rest of their track record with drafting and development lately really doesn't help their case. In short, it's entirely justifiable to make fun of them. How'd they manage to win 98 games last year with all those rotten contracts on the book and an apparent shitty developmental system?
  3. And the Angels are paying Pujols for 16 more years
  4. Nah, they're doomed forever because they have some guys lacking in surplus value.
  5. Inexplicably? There's plenty of reasons to have "turned on" Thibs. I personally don't want him fired, but I wont be too upset if he is. There's literally 2 coaches that i'd rather have. You forgot Stevens
  6. Yikes. Nobody is going to out-miserable this. seriously like, these playoff series go 5 and 6 games all the time. it's not ideal but it's fine. this is one of those annoying scrappy teams that scraps these games out. reminds me a little of the pacers in the 2010-11 first round. The celtics scrapped by a 38 win Hawks team in 7 games and then went on to win the championship As much as I'm enjoying the ridiculous histrionics here, that series isn't really comparable. The Celtics outscored the Hawks by 84 points in that series.
  7. The DH has to be for the pitcher.
  8. Good luck charm as well
  9. nice http://i.ytimg.com/vi/bz-9WeHDPV4/hqdefault.jpg
  10. On what earth are .324/.391/.686 and .322/.423/.608 not "really good"? Well, that was the same season
  11. How about just 6 hitters?
  12. The DH had nothing to do with Aramis heading elsewhere. He would've just cost us Kris Bryant. You guys are acting like Wainwright got hit in the face with a pitch. It was a fluky injury that could've happened coming out of the dugout.
  13. It's been a thing for 14 years Not "we're not going to commercial and please rise and remove your hats and salute the flag" like that was. Yes, that.
  14. The worst part about Bulls broadcasts is there is no counterbalance. Steve Stone is an arrogant prick, but at least he can be unbiased at times. Neil Funk is even worse than King. King is a clown trying desperately to spawn catchphrases, but Neil Funk is an incontinent old man blaming Obama for everything wrong in his life.
  15. This is stupid, I want the Cardinals at their worst.
  16. Nailed it Cameron. I would've loved this trade like da bum loves soiling himself
  17. Jim Hendry and Garza trade justified. let's wait and see how 2018 top-100 prospect Hak-Ju Lee turns out first before we get too cocky Chirinos made that trade a loser on day 1.
  18. That's a lot of singles.
  19. It's the "going rate" for multi-year deals signed in a liquid market. This is a damn near empty market at a 1 year deal. I may be distracted this morning...what point are you trying to make about the cost? that if we accept 8M/WAR to be fair market value for the '14-'15 offseason, then fair market value for a 1 year deal in-season should be north of 8M
