  1. Not to give you homework, but what does that FA crew do to the team WAR? Counsell now famously called for a 90 win team, where does this get us?
  2. Sounds like you're ordering pizza...ha
  3. I guess I can go fire up the grill instead of waiting until the game is over
  4. 97 yard touchdown drive incoming
  5. The division games are going to be tough. I'm concerned mainly about the OL performance allowing for a good enough running game and pressure pick up. Watching Green Bay hold Stroud to 86 passing yards gives me some unease. The Vikings D can easily confuse our OL if not Caleb. Detroit is just a beast of a team right now. Winning 2 out of 6 would feel like an accomplishment to me. I just don't trust that any improvement we've seen in the OL will translate when facing a legitimate DL/pressure front.
  6. I appreciate defending your teammate, but that is quite the statement, ha
  7. 3/40 or up to 3/40+ through playing time seems reasonable. Davis got 3/30, so I was thinking like 3/36. I kind of wrote it backwards, tho Someone might pay him 3/48 or more, but getting him in season like this should knock off the extra FA premium, I'd hope
  8. I think I would offer him something like the Nate Davis deal, ratcheted up for a couple years of inflation. Something like 3/30 with a chance to make a little more? That is something like top 20 G money, which I think is as highly as anyone would considered him to be. Not sure where we think that lands on Big Tev
  9. I resisted starting the mock draft chatter last weekend. The Tankathon draft in particular had me excited with the positions drafted in each spot (I don't know the individual players well enough to prefer one over the other): 1/18 - DE Williams, Ohio St 2/35 - IOL Booker, Alabama 2/50 - DL Corleone, Cincinnati 3/82 - WR Anderson, Oklahoma (this was previously another IOL, I assumed more of a C - can't remember who) Essentially the trenches on both sides. Agree that FA should be used to put us in BPA territory as either succession planning, instant training camp position battle, or just depth. If we went DE, G, DT, C I'd be perfectly happy with that provided the value was right.
  10. I'm getting a manifesto vibe off of this web page, and I like it. I'm not a NFL gambler, do any of you use these models to bet?
  11. Waldron is the kind of OC who will not get hired to be a HC, but he might be a " slightly above average" OC with an excellent QB. I think of him kind of like a Spagnoulo without the failed HC experience. Also, I applaud the team finally sitting out Nate Davis. Hard to make a FA splash inactive, but boy ol' Nate forced their hand. Let every position be a competition, every week; keep that edge on every player.

    NFL Week 6

I saw a Tweet about the Cowboys trading Parsons to the Lions Probably a good move for both teams, but I don't want to see it happen!
  13. The video of this is pretty telling. Some Twitter surgeons say its a year to come back from both broken bones
  14. Checking out Tankathon to see who has the #1 pick so far. Cleveland and Carolina are 2 and 4, have to think Cleveland would take a QB at this point. Maybe they'll sign Flacco again next year. Carolina, I assume they're going to get Bryce back in the games at some point this year, especially since they are 1-3 with Dalton at the helm.
  15. Yeah, >50% of the QB snaps, I think Through week 5, he has 328 out of 330 snaps, for 99.39%
  16. Wow, yeah my daugher is in cheer. They mostly practice and compete on mats, but she is also in school cheer now and doing things at football games, basketball next. These are hard surfaces, people get dropped from aerial stunts.
  17. I enjoyed seeing him get pummelled
  18. GB defense is looking pretty tough, especially when we have a clear weakness at various OL positions They will move the ball and get some points. Will our offense be able to control the ball (run game) and put up some points without turning it over (GB has 12 takeaways in the first 4 games)
  19. Love to see them carry out the bum-slaying effectively. Now to get their stuff together for the streetch run. I was surpised to see Murray ahead of Nate Davis coming in (moving Pryor to LG). Hope Jenkins is OK, didn't really notice Murray, which is a good thing. Also don't ask Doug Kramer to do things a TE would do. He's a C. Let him run straight ahead and block if he has an extra job. PS - Hoge and Jahns were trying to come up with a nickname for Kramer leading Roschon, I told them to use DoJo.
  20. Ha, 3 INT day for AAron
  21. What are thoughts on Shaw being with the team from the break and playing regularly with the 2B/SS/3B group? Say 6 games a week, 18 game slots get split like 5/5/4/4 between Dansby/Paredes/Nico/Shaw. Nico and Shaw can move around based on who isn't playing. In the event of injury the other three play every day. Keep Shaw from being thrown to the wolves or rotting on the bench, gives you a little matchup related action....
  22. I'm encouraged by Caleb's progress, but LA coming in to this game ranked 30-32 in several key defensive metrics. I can't remember them all, but you get the idea. Also, whoever said earlier that the divisional teams are much better than their recent/upcoming schedule is right on. If the next 4-5 weeks this team can gel and acutally get better they will have a fighting chance in some of the games in the second half.
  23. Love the breakdown. I have to admit I was a little too optimistic going into this season. I knew there would be a lot of rookie struggles but nothing like the total OL/Running game regression to worst in the league. I am emotionally hedging and resigning myself to another loss featuring never seen before failures along the way. That said, there was so much good from Caleb and Rome last week....hard not to envision the breakthrough coming, especially against the Rams as you laid out.
