if we're thinking like hendry, maybe he wants to make a stab at one of his favorite targets from the past, austin kearns? i don't know how willing the nats are to part with kearns, but he has a reputation for good defense, and against lefties this year he's .260/.374/.438, and in his career .284/.406/.457. i can't see the nats being that committed to kearns, maybe he could be had cheaply and hendry will have his righty (potential) power bat he desires.
