  1. So hopefully they don't arbitrarily rank the SEC west in the top 10. The teams are mediocre. Would love to see Bama get spanked as well.
  2. This may be the craziest thing you've ever posted here, and that's saying something. Lovie's teams won because of the defense. Lovie's focus was on the defense. The defense, however, would not have been immune to the wall of age it ran into if Lovie stuck around. If anything, Lovie got out at the right time because last year probably would have been even worse under him. They had successfully cycled through top defensive players while not bottoming out in the past. Tommie Harris, agunleye, alex brown, vasher, mike brown etc. lovie was good at getting guys into his system. I have no doubt the defense would have continued to be better than average. There was no cycling happening at the end of his run; their draft picks were failing left and right, so do you honestly think that in a single offseason the presence of Lovie Smith as HC alone would have been enough to suddenly reverse that course and prevent the old defense from collapsing into the cellar? Lovie Smith doesn't reverse the aging process on Briggs and Peppers. Lovie Smith doesn't prevent Tillman from being injured. Hell, the only thing he possibly changes is them stupidly retaining Urlacher and he was nothing at that point. Yes I do believe they would have gotten more out of the talent they had last year and this year. Definitely. Trestman and his staff are tht bad that hey could take a team I believe would have competed for a title under lovie and turned it into a joke. This assumes cutlers health. Bottom line is that cutler an lovie won a lot. I think an Angelo-Emery-Lovie combo would be a winning one. Somebody, maybe Angelo, could have stopped emery from reaching and they could have made a good squad together.

  4. In the 4 years cutler started for lovie they were 34-22 and trending upward Te last three years were 10-5, 7-3, 10-5. Firing angelo was bad because they hired an idiot to replace him. Firing lovie was the worst thing ever. They should have John Paxson'd Angelo and le him hire a GM. The Lovie-Cutler combo would have resulted in a SUper Bowl eventually. Lovies teams were great with cutler at QB.
  5. How many people work for the bears that aren't players coaches and scouts? Probably a ton. They have HR accounting facilities management sales marketing etc. it's a big business when take out the football. Perhaps knowing whee the bodies are buried is "having a clue what the non football operations even entail". If I owned an nfl team I would want nothing to do with the Ted Phillips stuff and if there was a ted Phillips in place I would hope he lives forever. Somebody has to hire the football guy and can you really pay somebody a million bucks just to be a football guy who can hire the football guy.
  6. I don't think anything has ever made me madder than looking at that picture of boers and Bernstein.
  7. Bernstein is like 5'0" 90lbs.
  8. Pay somebody and make this go away.
  9. His statement is 100pct accurate.
  10. I get bored sometimes. Are you waiting to hear the PC? You listen to one of the Joe cocker tributes and flip back periodically until Trestman is on the mic.
  11. Yea I don't understand why any fan would care when trestman does the press conference. I actually enjoy that it makes the media angry.
  12. As for this minutes per game thing. Yes butler is leading the league. But sitting 2mpg below him is Lebron and kyrie and a few more down the list is kevin love. So if you are one of these mpg obsessives you should be really happy that our biggest competition in the east is using their big 3 at a high rate while the bulls continue to win without leveraging Rose and Noah. If we rode butler and Pau into the ground for a 1 or 2 seed but kept rose 100pct healthy and gave Noah all the time he needs to work the knee issue out, I'm perfectly fine with it. Butler is young and strong and should be able to handle a big minute load at his age.
  13. His point is valid. He's sick of hearing thAt our no.4 guard sucks even if it's true. I understand complaining about hinrich right after he blew a game but not after a big road win vs Memphis. That is a time to allow yourself to be positive about the basketball team you like. Otherwise you should seriously stop following pro sports teams because it seems to only make you anxious, depressed and afraid.
  14. The writing has to be off the wall with a road win at memphis right without rose right?
  15. The guy [expletive] himself in their studio. Of course they made fun of him. They all like him because he's a decent person and he let's his producer open the mic. Holmes hood etc all started as Grobbers producer.
  16. I love grobstein he's just a nice guy. Whenever he comes up you pretty much can tell he's th one guy that all people who work for the score like and respect. I think all of them start as his producer as an entry level radio job. Spiegel and manelly have become the bet show on the station. They are both really good.
  17. Gruden is actually being hilarious.
  18. Fuller made a couple great plays and people lost there heads. He's gotten torched since because they are lining him up in man like he's prime Revis. This team is absolutely horrid. It's worse than I could have ever imagined. They are so much worse than their record.
  19. You just have a horrible attitude about the Bulls, Deeg. Its ok that they lost the second night of a back to back on the road to a decent team. They have same issue that every non-all star team has. They have to play a few guys that dont cause panic.
  20. Me too. I have uverse and i just notice that I am getting it.
  21. Muschamp should have went for the job and south carolina. Would have been a great HC job for him to get the inside track on. Still a big time program but not quite the circus that the other big SEC programs are. I agree on that one. I'm just not sure that Spurrier's ego could have taken on Boom. It might also be familiarity, since Boom coached at Auburn once before, IIRC. Dont you basically need to be a firmly entrenched boss to hire a guy like muschamp? Like Saban and Kiffen? Spurrier is probably in the top 2-3 most firmly entrenched coach in the country. In the Jimbo/Saban/Synd strata.
  22. Dunleavy is shooting 5 threes a game at an acceptable rate and i'm fine with him just standing in the corner on offense and being 6'9 on defense for 30mpg. I do not want Ray Allen on this team btw.
