  1. I am watching recap on Comcast and it is amazing how the Nationals pitcher went inside to Byrd and Fontenot to get outs with the bases loaded and then jammed Ramirez on the double play ball. I don't see the Cubs pitchers do that much.
  2. Soto and Soriano did not bat in a 3-2 game but Chad [expletive] Miles/Aaron Tracy and Xavier Nady did. I love it.
  3. I hope the umpire says, "Lou, you just made some of the ignorant decisions a manager could make and you are questioning my call on a close play?"
  4. 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position after 0 for 8 last night. The starting pitchers should revolt! I really wish a member of the media would ask Lou what he was thinking there. But the answer is simple, Lou trusts veterans more and Soto hasn't earned his trust. Screw you Lou. The Nationals have 4 damn hits and have drawn one walk, yet they are leading going to the bottom of the 9th.
  5. So Lou just burned 4 guys, Hill, Tracy, Nady and Soto, yet the best hitter did not bat. Has he not seen Soto's hitting stats?
  6. I assume we'll see Soto pinch hit for Dempster.
  7. Fontenot is 2 for 4 but failed miserably with runners on base. The Cubs just can't seem to string together 4 or 5 hits in an inning.
  8. Yep, Lou's answer to the problems the offense is having was to move Zambrano to the bullpen. I thought for sure he would hit and run on the 3-2 pitch to Aramis. I know Ramirez has been striking out a lot, but I thought Lou would try to make something happen. Might not have made a difference, but not trying something is not helping. Not that I want Tracy playing, but I wonder if Lee or Ramirez will get a day off tomorrow.
  9. A new manager and new GM if things don't change. :D)
  10. Dempster at 85 pitches through 7 so he should be able to go another inning. It would be nice for the offense to score a couple of times to give him a chance at a win. Bruney time for the Nats.
  11. Hoffman is struggling in a big way. Maybe LaTroy Hawkins will move to the closer role. :yahoo:
  12. I was going to post that, but I figured I would get lectured from you or Drew. By the way, I am only kidding.
  13. he walked in his first at bat. agreed, nice patience fukudome So he never has to take a pitch again. Got it. you're fun Why, because I expect a better thought process from professionals? The guy is a sinker ball pitcher so there is a good chance the first pitch is going to be a sinker that will result in an easy ground ball out. I have no problem swinging at the first pitch when it is a fastball in the middle of the plate, but you don't see many of those.

  15. Umm you realize 2 runs in 2 innings is a pretty damn good pace right? They were 0 for 8 last night with runners in scoring position and they haven't shown any consistency against anyone other than the Brewers. I guess I expect more from the middle of the line-up.
  16. Way to go Theriot. Why did Kennedy cut off the throw to the plate though? Nice patience Fukudome. Heaven forbid you make a young pitcher work a little harder and possibly get himself in more trouble.
  17. Come on Dempster. But again the offense is ridiculous. First and second no outs with 3-4-5 coming up and no one else can get on base. It would be nice to see the offense do something against a team not named the Brewers.
  18. Nice job of getting into position ump. But Lou deserves it for his idiotic decision
