  1. Do the Cubs lead the league in bats broken by the player slamming it on the ground when they make an out? I'd like to see a little more professionalism from this team.
  2. Yes, rbi single for Ramirez. So much for Adams and his 24 inning scoreless streak. Lets add a couple more.
  3. Piece of advice Milton, don't take fastballs right down the middle and then swing at breaking pitches in the dirt. Welcome back Ted, too bad your offense if a f'in joke.
  4. Yet, he gets to play. I'm sure Baker could play SS for one or two games if absolutely necessary. Come on Hendry, this is getting embarrasing.
  5. Nice job Ted Lilly! Wow, I figured the Padres would take the lead with Gonzalez up with 2 guys on base and one out.
  6. Would you settle for a 2 run shot by Ankiel. The lucky horse shoe is still firmly implanted in the Cardinals back side.
  7. How do you swing at a first pitch breaking ball down and in after the pitcher walks a guy on 4 pitches to load the bases. Ridiculous approach by Fontenot. He should have made the pitcher throw a strike before swinging, unless it was a fastball right down the middle. Come on Bob. You rip Bradley and Soriano constantly but say nothing about Fontenot's horrible approach on the first two pitches.
  8. Come on Fontenot. Be patient he might just walk you!
  9. Fukudome is hitting into some bad luck so far. Uncle Milty with a double to left field.
  10. What in the world is it going to take for Miles to be released? I love how Lou was talking about getting Miles "going" before the rainout yesterday. Yes Lou, he can get going anytime...how about to the beach, to London, anywhere but in the Cubs clubhouse. At least he didn't screw up the defensive double play. Nice job by Lilly so far.
  11. Nice at bat by Geo. Can Miles avoid the double play?
  12. Bad at bat by Fox. Jake you have to be more selective on a 2-0 count. You can't swing at a breaking ball low and away. Should have been a 3-0 count, instead the Cubs have to count on Fontenot. Yuck. Speaking of which, is there a worse 6,7,8 than Fontenot, Soto and Miles?
  13. I don't know about anyone else, but I have very little confidence the Cubs are going to do much offensively. They seem to struggle at Petco.
  14. Everyone knew the wide receiver would struggle, but I am more worried about the approach the hitters will take against Pedro. PATIENCE is needed!
  15. I just got in from a long but fun day on the golf course and I get to see Miles fail to turn a double play that every other second basemen in baseball would have turned. Aaron, stop your feet and make a good throw for Pete's sake.
  16. They can't even score after a lead off double. This team is so frustrating to watch. Lets hope Dempster is as good as he was in Florida and hopefully the Cubs will make Marquis work a little. It is funny that the two players the Cubs signed to be the left handed bat in the middle of the line-up are now batting first and second which leaves a .230 hitter to bat 5th and a .250 hitter to bat 6th.
  17. For one, the play meant nothing after Fontenot struck out. Two, why the hell didn't he rip Fukudome for swing at the first pitch and hitting into an inning ending double play? Three, why didn't he rip Ramirez and Soto for having terrible at bats in front of Soriano? Four, there are a lot of things to be critical about but in that case I thought it wasn't necessary. We all wish players would treat every at bat like it was there last and would hustle all the time, but that is not the case. When the lack of hustle actually makes a difference in the outcome of an inning, say whatever you want.
  18. I guess 4 innings and only a 2 run homer wasn't too bad for #29. Now the offense needs to get something started again. How about a 5 run inning...
  19. Bob being Bob. I don't have any problem with it. Soriano has no idea how to hustle and should be called out for it. The problem I have with it is he was the only guy to come through in the inning. Ramirez looked like a rookie in his first big league at bat and Soto couldn't make contact either. While Soriano might not have hustled, he did drive in a run which is more than we can say for anyone else in the line-up tonight. What would they have said if he would have been thrown out trying to get to second?
  20. You have to be kidding me. Two on and no outs and two pitches later the inning is over. A very bad time to be aggressive Kosuke!
  21. I was thinking maybe he should go back to playing football.
  22. SEVEN total pitches that inning. How does this happen so often from a team that was so much more patient last year?
  23. Maybe he feels compelled to pitch good since they kept him on the major league roster. Come on Aramis, please show some patience.
