Minaya must have woken up this morning to news of the Royals signing Ankiel and thought "like hell I'll let him one-up me on terrible decisions! I'm getting Gary Matthews, Jr.!" -
Cubs fans, rejoice. The stench of Rick Ankiel Strikes Out will be avoiding your city and polluting KC. I'm just happy the Cardinals didn't try bringing him back. I probably would've been banned in real life for saying that he isn't any good.

He's also one of the worst things to happen to the FSMW postgame show. Clark is unable to say anything without sounding bitter. I cannot stand him. -

Do the Bulls always play defense like they did in the first half or was Boston just beat? I don't know how many lazy passes I saw Rondo throw, and Kendrick Perkins was getting destroyed in the paint.

This will probably be the norm in the Big 12 this season. They need to sweep this pair against OU and Nebraska. That three game stretch with KU, OSU and A&M is brutal.

Crazy game in OKC. DeJuan Blair has 27-21 and Westbrook just tied the game with three seconds. This crowd is molten hot and I'm pleasantly surprised by that.

This is the important thing. Even before Holliday, they were definitely a stars and scrubs team. Now they're committing a huge portion of their payroll to Pujols, Holliday, Carpenter, and Lohse. Only for 2010 and 2011. And the team is in good position to win the division those two years. Not really an issue.

I don't know. 9 mil for a 270/25 HR hitter coming off an awful year? Yeah he plays good defense --but 9 mil for him? I guess the best move is that it's only a 1 year deal and the 5 mil option is chump change to a team like the Red Sox. Well...yeah. They added a good #7 hitter who can play excellent defense for a drop in the bucket. If this had been the Pirates or Royals it'd be an awful deal. -
His last 4 years outside of Coors... 2009 - .909 2008 - .892 2007 - .860 2006 - .819 I'm seeing a trend. Yeah, but now that he's making a lot of money he won't care about baseball anymore. Then the Cardinals will release him, he'll bounce around the Indy Leagues, come back with a new focus and Bernie will write a column praising him for caring about baseball again.

Good, they overpayed. I hope this cripples them for the next decade. Its funny Stl fans are loving it because "they didnt pay the 22mil Boras wanted". lol We're probably loving it because the Cardinals locked up a 5-6 win player for his prime years.

I don't think Boras cares where his clients are playing as long as they are getting paid. The reason they wind up in big markets is because the franchises in those cities can afford the price. I read this all the time and still don't understand it.

I meant in terms of Favre being a bad quarterback; I'm sure it would be difficult seeing Favre in purple. And I don't know why I included the Lions in that because they aren't beating the Vikings anyway.
