  1. http://www.630ched.com/Blogs/DanTencersBlog2/BlogEntry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10230350 Edmonton's Pre and Post Guy just setting Vancouver on fire. Awesome. Even if we lose, this run has at least brought me some joy from this otherwise listless season.
  2. HIS NAME IS NOT STARLING
  3. Quade's begging to get through this inning to save the bullpen for tonight
  4. Wow. Moseley has 0 runs scored during his 24.2 IP this season. I wonder what the all time record is
  5. Bolland and Bickell in. Seabrook out. Seriously, this to me is an absolutely ridiculous decision deciding to dress Bolland. How is this game/series worth risking his long term health as a player and human being? Sorry, we aren't winning this series. Vancouver is deeper and playing better than us at every single position. It's not worth it. Stanley Cup be damned, Q does a lot of things that make me scratch my head
  6. This replaced the planned Manny Ramirez bobblehead... http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSBETLHberIr54joTLxD0yrhz7KpcUqsbvRRFvq408aqcLn9mWM
  7. The most disappointing player this season has been Duncan Keith and it's not even remotely close. He's been absolutely awful at times. Hopefully a summer off lets him get rested and refocused. Rumors are that Bolland might be playing tomorrow. I hope for his sake that he doesn't. This series is over and the only thing that could happen is another injury that becomes career threatening.
  8. Not coincidentally, he didn't see the ice again after that stupid penalty. Scott on the power play was an extremely desperate move by a coach who knows his team is out-gunned.
  9. Len and Bob blogging about the kids including a pretty ferocious looking man hug between Starlin and Darwin http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/len-and-bob/2011/04/the-kids-are-alright.html They are so right though. It's just fun to watch some speed and athleticism. Even if this season goes south, i'll be more interested in Aug/Sept than I've been in years past.
  10. Well, thankfully the Red Sox and Yankees are set at 1B. Since Prince doesn't have the glove that Adrian has, might be able to get away with 18/19 per?
  11. To the Giants fan who was attacked at Dodger Stadium to help with medical expenses. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6355357 =D> =D>
  12. Barry Rozner continues to astound with his stupidity: In his article this morning he joins the knuckle draggers clamoring for John Scott. In one part of the article he claims that “The Hawks — 15th in hits during the regular season — might need to think about dressing John Scott.” and called the game "nothing short of embarrassing." However, in the same column!!! he says "the Hawks were the better team the final two periods, which bodes well for the rest of the series" So let make sure I understand your point Barry. It was embarrassing that he Hawks playing the #1 seed, President Trophy winning team who lead or nearly lead in every major category this year managed to control the game for 2 periods. So John Scott taking ice time from a player who has more than one aspect to their game would be less embarrassing? My memory is a little fuzzy, but I seed to remember the Hawks winning something of minor significance last year relying on speed, skill and taking advantage of other teams having guys out of position trying to take a run at our skill players. If we play like we did last night for the rest of the series, it's going 6 or 7 and I like our chances
  13. Back to .500. Officially my first ever win as thread starter. I'm feeling a winning streak coming. The Cubs visit the Mile High City for a 3 game set against the Rockies who are off to a very good start this year. The Cubs send this handsome devil to the mound: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT24Lk043ab9XMjS-Um81MZce_gG6IUGq4N0xGAIaZjD125FH13 who I forgot was the http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSJB4LW7j-swS_josT6VVWMJd3aqVKt5aufkTxCX60vtaMoKUqS He's off to a so-so start this year at 0-1 with a 5.68era and 1.82whip. He has struck out 20 over 12 and 2/3's though. The Rockies counter with Jhoulys Chacin who seems to be building off the success of last year which was his first full year in the bigs. http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRhOzIMs1IQG7_vY6NYBaYX-GKUtGfVMXvIAQu6TMMPIqQJsOON He's 2-0 with a 2.77era and 1.23WHIP Hawks start at 9. Let's Go Cubs ps. Hoping that my Mila Kunis picture from yesterday had anything at all to do with the Cubs win, here's another one!
  14. Troy Brouwer will be playing tonight. Bolland TBA
  15. Bolland and Brouwer on the ice for the morning skate. Good signs
  16. I rather watch Ryan Braun in his tap out t-shirt than listen to 5 minutes of Stone.
  17. That's dumb. It's literally pictures from ESPN.com
  18. #-o ......
  19. Not sure if this is the right section or not, but figured why not. Found this to be hysterical. http://www.wheresweems.com/?p=7552 Except this missed this guy for #21
  20. Well, we sort of expected whatever that was yesterday to happen. Some bad luck combined with inexperienced and bad pitching. On the bright side, we can win our 2nd series of the season tonight! The Cubs trot out Big Z tonight: http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSwJLieSt-WFn7HG5Ks4LMZ5_a9l9u-hIbXQ1mLun6k9dz6STEqNA He's 1-0 on the young season with a 5.25era and 1.50WHIP. As a fun aside, a Google Image search of Carlos Zambrano also provides a picture of this decent looking human Let's play two indeed The Astros counter with Wandy Rodriguez http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSCzLyaNtVdlOmUMGjNIoO6VRkgi4-9J0KCAC90_MO4qwLzMIDZ He's 0-1, 6.55era and 1.64whip. I like our chances tonight. Z has historically been pretty good in Houston and we are just a better team. Let's go Cubs ps. Blackhawks start at 9 :D
  21. I would say that the disappointing seasons of Keith and Hammer, which has been largely undiscussed by mainstream media, is a huge reason why the Hawks had the time of season they did. Hammer regressed to a level worse than last years regular season and Keith has been inconsistent as anyone.
  22. Fantastic montage of Myers pictures. I was planning something similar today if they had lost last night. At the start of this series, this is the game you had to think you were facing pretty long odds to win. Brett Myers is 10-3 against us lifetime with a 2.21era and .94WHIP in 101.2IP. :(
