    Wow, if that's true the Vikings could be really hurting at wide out. Who knows how Harvin's health is going to be and Javon Walker/Bernard Berrian no longer worry me in the least.

    Collinsworth has grown on me a ton the past couple seasons. I'm not sure if that's credit to the quality of his work or how bad his competition is.

    The Hawks would still be responsible for all of Huet's contract unless this Swiss team foolishly agrees to pay for some of it. It obviously would not count against the cap though

However, if Cowley had placed Jeter first on the ballot, Justin Morneau still would have won. That was the second such incident for Cowley; after omitting Blue Jays players Carlos Delgado and Vernon Wells, two top-ten overall finishers, from his 2003 AL MVP ballot, the Chicago chapter suspended him from voting the subsequent year. They accused Cowley of not voting seriously, saying he "embarrassed" the Chicago chapter of the BBWAA. [1]

    I ask this with the caveat that I'm not as familiar with our minor league development tracks as a lot of people here. What are the chances of Soriano being considered for 1st next year especially if Brett Jackson proves he deserves to be on the big club?

    It's not the run blocking i'm concerned about. It's the Jay taking almost all 5 and 7 step drops blocking. This team will absolutely try to throw to set up the run.

    I want to believe this. But I try not to underestimate the incompetence of Gary Bettman. Voiding Hossa's contract could be another chapter in his upcoming book "How to Destroy Any Progress the NHL Makes"

    To his credit though, Huet's been incredibly classy during this entire saga. A more selfish athlete would have created drama in the locker room, but he definitely took his demotion in stride. I wish him the very best in Rockford/Europe/Some other NHL team.

    he sure as hell is better than michael leighton and brian boucher. Shockingly, Philly's GM came out already and said they were not interested in Niemi. He better hope he can get a deal with San Jose or he's going to be in hockey hell.

    I think it's very possible our 3rd defensive pairing could be even better this year. Hendry is another year older and gained some valuable experience. And then I like some combo of Scott/Lalonde/McGee/Jay McKee if they sign him to work with him. I'm very excited about this team

    You should de-friend them. Not doing you any good to hang around people like that. People who know hockey realize that this is still a very good team. Top 4 in the West I'd even wager right now.

    Boers keep saying that Turco will be fine if it "get's interested in playing hockey again" I have no clue where this is coming from and I'm chalking it up to his senility. Tried to give them some stats/analysis that shows that this was a great move for the Hawks

    Had to email Boers and Bernstein to try to shut Terry up on this Turco stuff. Saying this signing is fine if 'Turco gets interested' Dan read it on air and it seems to have temporarily worked
