  1. I'll go ahead and call a Fuk-U-Bomb strikeout
  2. Perfect day for your first Wrigley home run Carlos
  3. Lee Judge is a Royals blogger who wrote that a KC player should have been hit by a 81 mph slider with the bases loaded and a tie game. The Royals offered for him to come down and take some batting practice and get hit by an 81mph slider http://videos.kansascity.com/vmix_hosted_apps/p/media?id=86087361&item_index=1&genre_id=841&sort=NULL
  4. Soto. Or even Soriano while he's this hot power-wise. If Pena is still looking improved through the weekend I'd put him there. Put someone there who is an actual threat to do some damage with a single swing. If Quade considers Pena at 3, I rather have him more Ramirez to 3 and Pena 4th. Doubt that'll happen with his Ramirez is batting 4th decree I threw Fuk at 3rd temporarily because his May stats are typically pretty solid as you've mentioned. I'm worried about the pitches Soriano would see if he were batting 3rd. He's absolutely murdering fastballs this year according to fangraphs. I think he'd see even less than he already does if he's that high in the lineup No problem at all with Soto 3rd.
  5. Well, I agree first off. But, I just don't know who I'd like to see consistently hitting there especially since Quade says Ramirez is the only constantly in the lineup at the 4. Not Byrd, not Pena...what would you like to see?
  6. At least for a couple weeks until the Soriano/Fuk cooldown happens, I wouldn't be totally against a Castro Barney Fukudome Ramirez Pena Soriano Soto Byrd Garza
  7. Just saw a video from Geo's home run, love the throwbacks today. Look sharp on both teams
  8. What's Wrong with Carlos Pena? http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/whats-wrong-with-carlos-pena/
  9. If Mid-March, someone gave me Castro's, Barney's, Soriano's and Aramis' stats for the month of April, I would have put the Cubs 6 games over .500 at least. Stupid starting pitching Very happy for Darwin.
  10. Jeremy Morin. He will be the goods, very excited about him I can type up a few paragraphs on my lunch break about some others
  11. Sadly, you should ignore all Chicago radio if you want good hockey discussion. The Saloon is awful, B&B(admittedly my favorite show) isn't interested, Danny Mac is a meatball etc. Hockey probably has the best set of blogs both locally and nationally. Second City Hockey, for example, is fantastic.
  12. Exactly. Except it's on an entirely different level of stupidity as the people who say that about Cutler for example
  13. Especially now that he'll have another off-season to add on some more muscle since he won't hopefully be as drinky. At time he's Hossa'ish with his ability to hold onto the puck and that's only going to get better with age and experience.
  14. You're right about no one in their right mind would pick Kane over Toews, but Kane can do things with the puck that Toews couldn't do even on his best day. It's also just the reality that these two will forever be paired together as long as they are wearing the Indian head. Credit goes to both of them, especially Toews, for accepting the contract he did. Both of them would get paid more if on open market.
  15. The problem with trading Hammer in hopes of keeping Campoli is that we have like 5 Campoli's between Chicago and Rockford. Keith/Leddy/Campbell/Shawn Lalonde etc. Ideally, we pair these mobile d-men with a slightly more traditional stay at home type which Hammer is.
  16. He's a point a game player, one of the top 5 passers in the league, who hasn't even entered his prime yet. People who are saying that just started watching the Hawks last year. Not saying that as a slam against them because I want the NHL to have as many fans as possible, but his skill-set is extraordinary and under no circumstances do you shop him.
  17. The second the refs lose sight of the puck, they are instructed to blow the whistle. Simple as that. It wasn't a goal.
  18. Campoli deserves a better fate than what he'll be remembered for here. He HAS to send that puck off the boards. He tried the cute play by flipping it over Burrows which isn't acceptable in November, much less Game 7 overtime. He was a nice mid-season pickup and upgrade over Boynton, but his time with us is most likely done. We have lots of exciting prospects in Rockford that could be up with the team next year Vancouver is a better team. This series shouldn't have gone 7.
  19. RFA's Brouwer 25 years old Campoli 26 Crawford 26 Dowell 25 Frolik 22 Stalberg 24 UFA's Hendry 26 Ryan Johnson 34 Kopecky 28 Pisani 34 Turco 35 Some notable minor league guys like Brian Connely, Ivan Vishnievsky etc that I'm assuming will be re-signed. I like Frolik. Not what we thought he would be, and he's probably not a top 6 NHL forward on a good team, but he can play for our 3rd/4th line all he wants. If we can offer him a contract befitting of a 3rd liner, I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back Get ready for Jeremy Morin next year up here to slay some fools. People keep forgetting that Brian Campbell WAS OUR BEST DEFENSIVEMEN for months this season. Sure, if someone offers to take his entire contract and give us a nice prospect or two in return you listen, but no way in hell you actively shop him. Shop Hammer I'm fine with that. Re-sign Turco if he wants to stay, 1 yr/750k or something unless them way to bring up Toivonen Goodbye Stalberg/Dowell/Pisani. Kopecky drives me crazy. Maybe Hossa want's him to stay, but I never understood his game and what he wants to be as a player. I know it's partly Q's fault since he moves him around the lineup so much, but frustrating. If Hendry wants a 500k contract he can stay and be our 7th defensemen Brouwers kind of bad season will probably allow us to bring him back for the cheap. If he kept progressing after last year, he might have gotten to expensive for us. I'd bring him back. Campoli is fine, but with the defensive depth we have in the minors, I could see him leaving town.
  20. Kopecky on the ice for the morning skate. Would be super if he could replace Bickell's spot on the Bolland/Frolik line
