  1. Nobody get hurt, please.
  2. Even if Atlanta had lost, though, there would have been no chance the Bears played the Packers in the second round. No, but there would have been a chance of playing Atlanta in the 2nd round if Atlanta had lost and the Saints had beaten the Bucs. That's why I mentioned that.
  3. y'all just need to take care of your own business. Quit crying about the Aints. True. There's something wrong with us when I'm not confident in a "win and in" situation. If you're not confident in the team beating a Bears team with nothing to play for than you won't be confident that we'll have to win at Philly and probably Atlanta and Chicago (We haven't won a playoff road game in forever). That's helping me be calmer about this game. Playoff football is better than no playoff football though. This is what I'm not understanding right now. I've seen so many Packers fans pessimistic about today's game, yet when you mention road playoff games at Philly and Atlanta we get the whole "we dominated Philly in Week 1 and should have beat Atlanta in Week 12" deal.
  4. The Raiders are going to finish the year 6-0 in their division but 0-6 against the rest of the AFC lol.
  5. Earl Bennett will rest his ankle today and not play. Good move by Lovie, we'll need him in the playoffs. I expect to see more of Aromashodu and Rashied today.
  6. Yeah the Bears won't be playing the Packers, Giants, or Bucs in the 2nd round. The Falcons-Panthers game is over, which means the Bears will play one of four teams in the 2nd round, and in order of preference I'd list them: Seahawks Rams Saints Eagles
  7. Of course I would rather the Bears win today, but like I said before the Packers getting in the playoffs isn't the worst thing that can happen. First of all there's a really good chance they beat the Eagles. IMO, facing the Saints/Seahawks/Rams outdoors at home are all better options than Philly coming to Soldier Field a second time this season. I don't see GB getting past both Philly and Atlanta, but we can beat Atlanta in Atlanta, there's no doubt in my mind. If something happens we do get GB in the NFC CG, it will be at home at least. I really don't think it will come to that though. And finally, the Packers getting in just increases the likelihood of McCarthy sticking around, which is good news for the rest of the division. Now that Childress is gone, McCarthy is easily the worst coach in the North.
  8. Sidney Rice is a UFA this coming offseason. I can't express how much I'd like to see him in blue and orange.
  9. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=7442 I see someone already quoted a part of this article, but here's the whole thing. Not really anything we didn't know already but a good read nonetheless. It's so freaking nice to have a real offensive coordinator.
  10. I think I'd rather face New Orleans in Chicago than Philly again.
  11. I imagine Forte and Knox are at least going to play until they reach 1,000 yards on the season. Forte needs 22, Knox needs 40.
  12. Don't make Romo pay because he's injured. He's a franchise QB in every sense.
  13. I'm sure you already know but the NFC CG remains a possibility. That game would be nothing short of indescibably devastating for the losing fanbase.
  14. What does it mean to be a franchise QB anyway? To me it means that a player is automatically assumed as a team's QB going into each season without any question or controversy. Eli and Cutler have both reached that status. They don't necessarily have to be elite QBs to build a team around them.
  15. 3rd place by 0.3 points  Congrats Cubbies.
  16. Our injury luck is going to run out if we keep trying it. Besides, the Giants (the likely 6th seed if the Packers don't get in) are a dangerous team themselves, so it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Plus I think the Packers have a better shot against the Eagles than the Giants would, and a Packers win gives us the winner of the 4th/5th seed, which is either going to be a dome team or a pathetic excuse for a playoff team. Lovie keeps saying that a bye week in the playoffs would be "a chance to take another step with our team". Normally I don't believe crap like that, but considering the team's significant improvement since our Week 8 bye, I'm anxious to see what might be tweaked to prepare this team for another run at the SB.
  17. Agreed, Bears would be stupid for playing the starters on the chance for home-field advantage against the Falcons. It ain't that big of a deal. Also, go Falcons and Bucs!! uh wut? Lol whoops. Don't worry, I'm sure the Falcons will be all you need to make sure the Bears won't be playing for a #1 seed come game time.
  18. Lovie has already mentioned on several occasions that he wants to finish with a 6-0 division record. Then throw in the fact that his #1 goal is to beat GB and I don't think you'll see him roll over. I think they'll play the first half as they would a normal game, and then pull the plug in the 2nd half if they're trailing. It's not really a matter of not trying though. It comes down to simple desperation and after the Vikings win tonight (thank you btw), the Packers will have a ton more of that. Before Packers fans celebrate though, let's be modest about their playoff aspirations. They're looking at a path of @Philly, @Atlanta, and @Chicago/New Orleans in order to reach the SB. They really needed to grab that 5th seed, which at this point is a virtual first-round bye. In addition, Philly won't have anything to play for next week so I assume all the starters (especially Vick) will get a rest, meaning they shouldn't really feel the effects of those 3 games in 12 days. I know the idea is just to get in and that itself is something to be excited about, but they'll just have a ridiculous mountain to climb if they want to earn the trip to Dallas. Celebrate the probable win and playoff berth coming this Sunday, but keep things in perspective.
  19. #1 seed is still in play for the Bears next week, however unlikely it may be.
  20. Packers will still get in if we beat them via losses by both the Giants and Bucs. If we do beat them, however, we are guaranteed to not play them again until the NFC Championship game. Tonight's game is on NBC.
  21. I'm trying to come up with ways the Vikings could win tonight, the best being Adrian Peterson taking complete control. Make it happen.
  22. And considering Philly has to win both of their remaining games for this scenario to even happen, it makes it even more unlikely. Also, you'd have to think the Packers would be in danger of a flat performance at Soldier coming off two emotional playoff-clinching victories at home, but we'll see. I'm pissed that the re-seeding deal couldn't have happened this year, because the Bears would be looking at either a bye or a first-round matchup at home vs the Rams/Seahawks. Then again, in that scenario the Saints could beat out the Bears for the 3rd seed and we'd be playing GB as the 4th and 5th seeds anyway lol.
