At this time last year I really feared we had lost that trade with Denver, but this year has been a different story. So far not much has come out of the two 1st-rounders and 3rd-rounder we traded them except for a guy named Robert Ayers (2009 1st-rounder) who so far has been a huge bust. They traded down with the other picks we gave them, but I don't believe any of those guys have made much of an impact thus far, although I could be wrong. Now Orton has lost his starting job, which is partially due to injury, but his last two games were nothing short of horrible. Then throw in the fact that he was 3-10 as a starter this year (whether it's his fault or not) and you have a benched quarterback. The Bears on the other hand seem to finally have their franchise QB after he sent almost everyone into panic by falling well short of expectations in 2009, a problem that was solved largely by hiring a real offensive coordinator. In addition, we got our #1 WR (even though he's not a legit #1) in Knox with that 5th-rounder from Denver. So looking back on it now, the trade looks pretty damn good. What a difference a year makes.
