  1. Of course it's not over, but I saw this coming from a mile away. Unfortunately if Seattle hangs on that means I'd have to root for GB tomorrow. Puke.
  2. True, but Dempster had easily the best year of his career at age 31. It does happen.
  3. I'm glad I still have Bears football to distract me from this pathetic trade.
  4. A .579 OPS in 385 ABs for AAA Durham last year. It's just time for Hendry to leave.
  5. Trading for Garza shouldn't require a can't-miss prospect. However depleting a lot of good depth on this farm is still a bad thing.
  6. So a 5 for 3 deal. As long as the TB prospects coming back are somewhat decent I could live with this deal. Trading Sam Fuld obviously doesn't bother me.
  7. He actually said this team doesn't have a lot of talent? That's not something you normally hear from GMs.
  8. Um...the Packers scored 27 and 45 in back to back weeks and then only scored 10 yesterday. And the Bears defense is better than the Pats or Giants. I didn't say not to give any credit to GB's defense. I simply said they're getting too much. And the Pack defense is better than the Vikes or Jets. GB has had a very good pass defense all year, and a sketchy run defense. I think that beared out yesterday. I guess I just dont see where they're getting undue credit. So you think us scoring 3 points was due entirely to the Packers defense? My post was in response to all the Packers fans and media who actually think the Bears were giving 100% yesterday.

  10. The bottom line is the Packers defense is getting way too much credit for what happened yesterday. As an offense you don't just go from scoring 40 and 38 points in back-to-back weeks to 3 the following week without there being circumstances. Even the best defenses rarely hold teams to 3 points. Our offense either took a step back yesterday or just simply quit. Based on what I saw, I'm going with the latter.
  11. Lol it's not up to the coach whether or not the players give a [expletive]. If the coach tells you you're playing the whole game, you're playing the whole game. And that's what Lovie did. But it doesn't mean all of a sudden you care more as a player. Not having anything to play for affects you, even if it's on a sub-conscious level. It's all about desperation.
  12. ? You can't be serious. The first Bears/Packers thread was 14 pages of Packers fans saying they actually won the game. The Lions game wasn't really a loss either. Now the Falcons game doesn't count. I'm sure the Redskins and Dolphins losses weren't real either. ETA: Yep, 2 missed field goals in the Washington game. Not to mention that Rodgers threw an interception in the Dolphins game. That's the game-winning td right there. Congrats on the 15-1 season 15-1? But Matt Flynn almost beat the Pats, a game they surely would have won with Rodgers, so that loss doesn't count either. I think you meant to say 16-0. PACKERS HAVE A CHANCE TO GO 20-0!
  13. The game was played 1/19/2002. Yeah I know, but that's not the point. The point is it's been a freaking long time since we played a Saturday game, whether it happened in the 90s or 2002. Correcting me on a difference of one year is totally beside the point.
  14. Meh, I would have preferred Saturday as it might have given the Bears a chance to play a team on short rest, but whatever. Noon is a hell of a lot better than 3 PM though. I hate waiting all day for football, especially playoff football. I can't remember the last time the Bears played a playoff game on Saturday. I'm pretty sure they haven't since the 90s. 2001 Div Playoffs v. Eagles. Yeah close enough. It's still been 10 years since we've seen Bears playoff football on Saturday. 9 C'mon, seriously?
  15. I honestly think the Saints could have their hands full at Qwest. Seahawks fans are going to be extra excited that they beat the system and found a way to have a horrible season and still make the playoffs. That's assuming they win tonight, which I think they will.

  18. A lot of those throws came on the final couple possessions when we really didn't have time to run. This has really been the first time since the bye week that we trailed for almost the entire 4th quarter with a chance to still win the game (unlike the NE game). The Bills and Lions games we trailed but then scored and ran the ball to drain the clock. I thought we used the run appropriately today for the most part. With Forte's recent success, I'm not worried at all that we'll abandon the run come playoffs.
  19. Most important thing is no serious injuries and I'm sure we highlighted a few things on offense to improve, a benefit we wouldn't have necessarily gotten had we rested the starters. We pretty much got the most ideal result from this game that we could have gotten with a loss. Oh and someone forgot to tell Johnny Knox there was a game today. That's alright, better it happened this week than in two weeks.
  20. Forte finishes the season with 1069 yards rushing and a 4.5 ypc. The ypc is the highest by a Bears starting RB since Neal Anderson in 1989. He also added 547 yards receiving. Considering the line he ran behind, that is nothing short of a great season.
  21. It's about time. Again, I'd like to reiterate that GB isn't doing [expletive] in the playoffs. They just aren't that good.
