  1. From Roto: Maybe we won't have to wait until Friday this week, although from a GB standpoint I can't imagine why they wouldn't want to keep the Bears in the dark for as long as possible.
  2. Fair point. It's just that we showed no signs of being able to stop anything the Saints did in Week 5, and I have no reason to believe it would be different this time with an even less-healthy defense. Take your chances with a different team and hope Kaepernick gives us a few. Truth is we'll lose to either team most likely. Any chance Arizona still gets in?
  3. Not necessarily. If Dallas beats Philly for the division and the Bears win, they're back to the 3 seed since they have the tiebreaker over DAL. Even if they end up the 4 seed, I like the Saints chances of going into Philly and getting a win, which would still give us Carolina in the 2nd round. And count me among those people who rather face SF than NO in the 1st round.
  4. Up by 19 in my champ game going into tomorrow night. He has Vernon Davis, I have Phil Dawson. I figure he'll need at least 25 from Vernon to win, probably a few more. I like my chances.
  5. Starks is plenty capable of running all over this D (who isn't?). Thus, if I had to pick one to be out, I think I'd go Matthews. Hopefully neither play though.
  6. He's been medically cleared to play?
  7. While tonight was troubling in all phases, these losses are much easier for me to get over than losses by one score or less. Reminded me of the St. Louis game, got behind early and it all snowballed because of the D. Will be very important to start fast next week. At least McCown didn't come in and light it up. We don't need that to become anymore of a distraction than it already is. I think we came out of it OK injury-wise. Shea, Briggs, and Conte were all still out there when starters were pulled. Am I missing anyone? Pray for Flynn, guys.
  8. Well let's see, Big Ben lit it up in the snow two weeks ago against a much better defense, so there's hope there. Flynn is facing a better defense than ATL and DAL, not sure what the weather will do to him. GB does have the advantage in the running game though, so we'll see what happens. PIT is 6-4 since their bye, they're rolling along a bit better than they were when we got them.
  9. From ESPN: GM praises Cutler, franchise tag an option
  10. I'm not sure he comes back Week 17 regardless of what goes down this week. Of course getting knocked out by Matt Flynn would provide a new level of humiliation.
  11. I think he meant the GB-PIT game.
  12. Then who is Tweeting it? Your friends? Saw two pop up within a few minutes of each other. Likely not credible. GOT A LITTLE EXCITED, is all.
  13. Seeing some tweets in the last few minutes that Rodgers has been ruled out for Sunday, nothing from any major outlet yet though.
  14. GB and PIT is going to be a blizzard game. Not sure if that'll factor into Rodgers playing or not.
  15. Briggs will help, just not sure how much.
  16. Our main problem with GB since Cutler got here is that he plays atrociously against them, for whatever reason. Average QB rating of 60.5 against them in seven regular season starts. 31.8 in the playoff game before getting hurt. Of course he has no excuse to suck against them anymore.
  17. I've heard a few Packers fans say there's never been a plan to bring him back this year, that it's all a smoke screen by McCarthy to keep his opponents guessing. Even if that's untrue, I rather the Bears face him in his 1st game back than his 2nd.
  18. Updated playoff odds according to FO: Bears: 61.1% Lions: 19.9% Packers: 19.0% I wish I had as much confidence as they do of a Week 17 win.
  19. I assume no shot at 2 seed with the other divisions having 10 win teams and our poor conference record... Yeah Bears were eliminated from that when Carolina won on Sunday. The 2 NFC South teams have 10 wins already, so the best the Bears could do is tie them, and the Bears are only 4-6 in the conference vs. 7-3 for SF and 8-2 for NO (which doesnt matter bc the Saints beat the Bears head to head). Also I'm not sure how the Bears would most likely be the 3 seed, they are in the 4 seed right now. Obviously if the Bears can beat Philly this weekend the odds greatly increase though. Lets just worry about making it. If they beat Philly they'll either be the 3 seed or miss the playoffs, as they'll be a game up on them plus the head-to-head tiebreaker. They also have the tiebreaker over Dallas if they end up winning the East. Getting the 4 seed would require losing to Philly, the Lions losing again, and then of course beating GB. While the Lions could lose again, I have to think the first scenario is more likely. I agree though, just get in.
  20. Since the Bears will most likely be the 3 seed if they get in, it would be really nice if Carolina beat the Saints at home this week. At home vs Saints or 49ers in the WC round and @ Carolina in the divisional round is definitely the route we want to take.
  21. Pettigrew: "What?" or "Why?" Haha.
  22. I'll put on my Bears homer hat and say that every team gets screwed by the refs, Bears included. Lions pissed this away just like they historically piss away games. I mean - Ravens never found the end zone and the Lions still couldn't win. Yeah, this screwjob had a pretty direct impact though. If they call the arm-bar in the end zone it's 1st and goal from the 1, likely 7 instead of 3, and therefore likely a Detroit win. You're right in that they should have won anyway, but in a game decided by two points those calls become amplified. Anyway, time to start bracing for Cutler vs. Rodgers for the division.
  23. YES! Sucks even more that the Packers won now, but I'll gladly take it for a Lions loss that due to calls by the refs, probably shouldn't have happened.
  24. I hope you guys are ready for 10-6 without playoffs two years in a row.
