  1. Jose Molina only played in 10 game for the Cubs in 1999, but he's still around.
  2. At this point, I'd be fine with the Cubs just keeping Dempster, and benching his stupid ass just to throw a big FU in his face. Bring up anyone in this lost season and just tell Dempster he can go to hell. It's clear the Cubs aren't going to get anything of worth in return for him, so might as well screw with him.
  3. I hope Dempster has lots of 2-1 and 3-2 losses to close out the season. Screw him.
  4. I wonder if the Cubs are looking to trade him on his own or attach him to a Dempster or Garza deal. I don't know what LaHair would command on his own.
  5. This is something you say about a 24/25 year old. Simply "not being 20 years old anymore" is meaningless. He's only 22. And he was aggressively pushed along the way every year before 2011. They've got plenty of time to see what he has and no reason whatsoever to even consider calling him up now. I was talking about him being rushed up to the majors as a guy who's only had a season or two in the minors.
  6. Why not give him a shot when he's ready? He hit well last year in AA and has improved at the plate so far in AAA. I know his defense has been a question mark in the past but how much time does he need to prove he can play? I understand not rushing someone but he's been in the minors since 2007 and is showing that he can hit there.
  7. Great commercial. Kerry sure is looking skinny though. Especially when you look at him his first few seasons with the Cubs. He wasn't fat by any means, but he really slimed down.
  8. At some point you have to just try him out and see if he's going to be good. Vitters isn't 20 years old anymore and if he's got to show if he can play at the big league level sometime. Might as well be now when the Cubs are totally out of it.
  9. That's like thinking the Garza trade was a mistake at the start of last season because of the hot start that Fuld got off to. Colvin is still hitting well, and even outside Coors. Steward struggled all season and is probably done for the year. We are getting far enough into the season to say this wasn't a good trade. Colvin isn't the missing link, and he strikes out a ton, but he would have been a fine bench or filler guy for Soriano when he needs a day off.
  10. I agree, and I'm also fine with keeping Garza too if they can't get a solid return for him.
  11. I thought he'd start the season at Peoria but Mesa probably makes the most sense.
  12. Sounds like they are going to decide at the All-Star break if Stewart is going to have surgery. Might as well just call up Vitters and see what he can do. I think Stewart is done this season.
  13. 20 games below .500! 7 road wins! I knew this year would be bad. I had no idea it would THIS bad. :banghead:
  14. More bad luck for Stewart?
  15. That's like thinking the Garza trade was a mistake at the start of last season because of the hot start that Fuld got off to. Except Garza has actually had a decent MLB career and has upside. Ian Stewart played in Colorado and was a pretty ineffective baseball player. I'm not saying Colvin is a God or anything, just at this point this trade looks bad. I was never unhappy with the Garza deal anyway so I am not comparing the two deals.
  16. I love when people are arrogant about things they don't understand. I love it when people have their eyes closed.
  17. Wow, you're pretty awful out of nowhere But Tyler Colvin is hitting .300! But Stewart is going to turn it around!
  18. Wow, you're pretty awful out of nowhere Well considering there is a thread devoted to how "unlucky" he is I think that statement is a bit misleading.
  19. This is the Jeff Suppan we all know and love.
  20. Another "unlucky" AB for Ian Stewart. He's now hitting .191
  21. Nothing shocks me anyone with this bunch. Bad News Bears come to mind.
  22. It doesn't help that Tyler Colvin is playing well for the Rockies right now either. This trade is looking to be very bad one.
  23. Maybe it's just me, but I think Russell is better as a setup guy. I don't think the Cubs have anyone on the active roster at the moment that actually is a closer. Camp? Meh.
