    I knew this before the season started, but this team sucks. Parts of the pitching staff are the only glimmer of hope and the rest of the team is just awful. I hate it that I'm so negative already but this frustrates the hell out of me.

    Anyone know who the starting 5 are right now for Iowa, Tenn, Daytona, and Peoria? Also, who are the closers for each team? I know this changes a lot, but I just wanted to know how it looked now. Thanks.

    I can't stand Soriano's contract (never liked it from day 1), but I am fine with the Cubs keeping him to start the season. In all honestly he's about the best offense the Cubs have in the OF. He is by no means worth his contract, but removing him from the team at this point takes away any power they have. Soriano, when locked in, can be very productive. On the flip side, his slumps are black holes but the Cubs don't have much to work with right now. Soriano should probably be a DH since he is so bad in the field but the Cubs just need to hope he starts strong so they can flip him later in the season.

    Great news but I agree it is bittersweet. I think I'm going to watch This Old Cub tonight.

    So why is Maddux still weighing things with his family? He's had time to think about it and if he really wants to manage he would have made a decision. If the Cubs indeed want him they shouldn't have to wait any longer. The other manager openings are just as far if not farther in distance for him. Perhaps he really doesn't want the job and is content where he's at?

    If Mike Maddux were to get the job I wonder if Greg Maddux would be interesting in being the pitching coach? Just throwing it out there.

    I'd actually get a pretty good laugh out of it, moreso if Theo/Hoyer hires Martinez. Yeah. It would basically be the equivalent of Theo taking the #23 flag down from the flagpole, wiping his butt with it, and running it back up there. Thanks for playing Ryno, but instead of a lifetime of sac bunts, we're going to hire the guy who banged your wife, but isn't a high school manager. Peace. I thought it was Palmeiro that did Ryno's wife. Rumors were that it wasn't just Palmeiro. Evidently she really liked Latin lovers. Manny Trillo and Angel Salazar too? 8-)
