  1. Yeah, what a trade.
  2. Haha... Jim Bowden threw out the idea of Jose Bautista to the Cubs as a rental.
  3. That is not a sleeve. It's debatable as to whether or not it could be considered a half-sleeve. And Ron Coomer's best trait is that his first name is Ron, so we still get to have Pat & Ron.
  4. Who hits that pitch out of the park? Honestly.
  5. Would this slow down the trade process so there is a lag period while everyone votes?
  6. It's a afternoon game in SF Well, 4:15 pm is kinda borderline afternoon, and shouldn't be too early for someone to wake up and turn on the TV. That's what was going through my head before the part about traveling.
  7. Ohhhhhhh. Wow. Maybe it's because I haven't finished my coffee yet, but I totally couldn't understand the way the post was worded. I was thinking he was saying the game was too early, and he he didn't intend to wake up for it, and I'm all, "but... it's a night game".
  8. I have no idea what this post means. Oh, wait, you live on the other side of the globe or something, right?
  9. As an eternal hater of low pitches, I would love to see them amend the zone. A pitch that is at the bottom of your knee caps is not hittable and should not be called a strike. I don't think I'm down with the intentional walk thing, though. It's not really a big deal, but for some reason I feel like it's sort of a step in the wrong direction. Like, they might start tinkering with the game in other ways to make it less "boring" or whatever. That has the potential to not go well.
  10. Nothing quite like Jake Arrieta to get a team back on track.
  11. Last year I attended two out of the four games that we swept from the Giants. During the Saturday game I was sitting in the 2nd row in the center field bleachers, and the guys in front of us in the 1st row were really giving it to Angel Pagan all game. Lots of Wendy Pagan-related comments. My personal favorite was, "PUT YOUR GLOVE ON, ANGEL!" like the way your little league coach would yell at you. You guys probably remember that Pagan ended up making an error late in the game, and when he walked back out into center, the entire bleachers had erupted into a chant of, "AN-GEL! AN-GEL! AN-GEL!". It was a really awesome moment to be a Cubs fan.

  13. I was just reading an ESPN interview with Justin Grimm where he was asked the best heckle that he had received. He said some random guy yelled, "Quit hooking up with my sister!" It got me thinking about the best heckles that I have heard at games, and I thought it would be a decent idea for a thread. So... let's hear 'em.
  14. I'm starting to really like this whole Baez at third and Bryant in left thing.
  15. You say that like Hendricks, Lackey and Hammel didn't put up a nice ERA of 1.69 in their last turn through. I just like watching Arrieta pitch. :shrugs:
  16. I couldn't be happier to be back to the top of the rotation.
  17. Wow... Addy has really bumped those stats up the past couple weeks. Would be nice if Heyward followed suit.
  18. That's the other fun part. Would be nice to throw a laser right to Addy and have him give you a thumbs up or something.
