    I like how you're asking me how to be nice to a person, as if you don't even know where to start. No, I'm not; I'm asking how a professional sports organization is supposed to do something as ridiculous as "pamper" a player so everyone notices without looking like a bunch of pathetic, overcompensating goons. As others have pointed out, the narratives of the Bulls mistreating their players seems pretty overblown, so I'm confident they can simply act like normal human beings and have a pretty standard professional and personal relationship with Wade. As usual, you are putting way too much effort into splitting hairs on my wording. I'm saying you be nice to the guy and don't horsefeathers him over, so he will speak highly of us. I'm not talking about rolling out a horsefeathering red carpet and making a huge production for the world to see.

    it pains me that i agree with you this much even though i think the perception that players don't want to come here is a bit overblown...a lot of circumstances that would've been tough to overcome for any team have kept us from getting the big guys we've gone after. but yeah, i think it would help. wade is one of those guys around the league. I agree that actually landing a name for once looks good, but the bold part seems like nonsense. Whet the hell are they supposed to do to accomplish this?     Here, let me see if I can simplify this any further: The Bulls' front office has a bad rep around the league. The story is that we supposedly are not loyal and do not treat our players very well. It makes free agents hesitant to sign with us. Dwyane Wade is currently in a situation where he has left his previous organization for similar reasons. Dwyane Wade is highly respected by other NBA players. If we try really hard to pamper him, spoil him, be nice to him, be loyal to him, whatever you want to call it... he is going to turn around and gossip about it. He is going to tell other stars that the Bulls have treated him really well. It might help counteract some of the negative publicity we have received in the past. It might even help convince another star player to sign with us, who knows.

    Logically, I know the Cubs are fine. We are a powerhouse that is built to win for at least the next several years. Emotionally... I'm not doing so hot. Can you blame me? After everything we've been through? It's like that little OCD voice is starting to creep in saying, "this is the part where the Cubs horsefeathers it all up".

    There. may gives me an out to either greater or lesser influence it seems like in all likelihood it won't be a HUGE difference maker. but it may be enough to perhaps sway someone of the fence. though, if things fall apart that could be in either direction. dammit, now i've gone and interjected myself into this rhetorical mess. Perhaps the biggest difference maker will be how this season goes. If it's a mess, then there is a basically zero chance of any notable players signing with us next summer. On the flip side, if we win 48 or 50 games and snag the #3 seed in the east, Wade has a good healthy year, etc... I don't see how you could argue that we aren't a legit destination. Not to mention, I have a feeling GarPax is gonna try REALLY hard to pamper Wade and try to repair their image around the league. Doesn't that seem logical? Isn't that the right business move?

    I got this article on Wikipedia, and I still don't know what thoracic outlet syndrome is. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoracic_outlet_syndrome My wife had a rib excised because of it several years ago. It's basically when blood vessels or nerves get pinched funny...in my wife's case between a rib and another bone (I don't remember all of the details at this point). In her case, she had tingling in her arm, and pain in her funny bone and back area. She was actually dealing with it, not thinking much of it, but a neurologist she goes to for another condition noticed muscle loss in her left hand, and it eventually was traced back to this. Once she had the rib excised, she's had no problems. OH MY GOD This is gonna sound really weird, but I have always had this weird fear of blood vessels and/or organs getting pinched between bones, and I always try to tell myself how irrational it is. Now I find out it's an actual thing that can happen. horsefeathers.

    Go out of his way? It's not that much work to say to your friends (who you're already hanging out with), "hey, you should come play on my team, and we'll be better". I think Wade would rather be on a better team than a worse one. That is motivation enough. Wade has been quoted in the past saying the Bulls are the only other team he would consider playing for. Obviously he grew up a fan, idolizing MJ. It's not like the Bulls are just some team.

    That could be totally true, I just think it's too early to make that call. We will see exactly how much he has left in the tank over these next 1-2 seasons. I think he'll be useful barring another serious injury these two seasons; it's after that where hes likely to be about league average at best based on how he's been steadily trending for multiple seasons. Given that he's essentially a gun for hire and they're not like to do win it all over the next couple of years, I REALLY hope the Bulls don't foolishly choose to keep him around given that they have basically no connection with him. Well, I definitely agree with you. I certainly don't want to see a repeat of the Kobe situation. I can't imagine us keeping Wade around as an old guy unless we're talking about a dream scenario where we lure Chris Paul and somehow become a contender and it turns into a "one more year" thing over and over like Duncan and Ginobli. In other words, a scenario where Wade was merely a role player.

    Why do you say he's almost certainly not going to be around longer than 2 years? Just health-wise? I honestly think he's going to retire a Bull unless this team is a total mess. I could be wrong, but I just think that's where he's at emotionally. I don't really see him trying to jump on a championship bandwagon or anything, but we'll see.

    I honestly don't think the age factor means as much to other players as it does to fans and executives. Wade is one of the most respected and well-liked guys in the league, he has rings, and he can clearly still play. He could very well have 3 more solid years in him for all we know. Since chemistry is so important in basketball, personal relationships are critical. I guarantee you Chris Paul is not gonna be like, "I dunno man, you're kinda... old". Also, not all cities are equal. Yes, every team has money now, but not everybody wants to play in OKC (clearly). A guy I knew from Germany told me that the Bulls are probably the most popular team there, and that everyone knows their logo, just because everyone still thinks of MJ and the 90's dynasty. Of course, our front office doesn't have the best reputation, but I think Wade is a big help on that front. If we treat him right, he's going to tell people about it, and people will listen.

    I don't remember anyone saying that Rondo was slow. But he's a point guard whose best attribute is being able to push the ball and he's been surrounded by old, slow guys. What is his role going to be in the half court offense? How will this team generate the spacing to allow him to penetrate? Aside from Rondo himself and Wade, who are you referring to as an old guy? Taj? Wade is the oldest player on the Bulls' roster at 34. Nobody else is older than 31.

    Yeah, I mean, Friedell's tweet pretty much sums it up. But, we'll take it. Once it became clear that the beef between him and the Heat was very real and very serious, I knew he was coming to the Bulls. It was simply the best option for his ego. Going to the Nuggets or the Bucks would have been kinda weird. Pulling the, "I'm going home" thing was the only move he really had.

    Just looking ahead to the 2017 free agent class... I'd venture to say Steph Curry is probably staying in Golden State. Westbrook probably leaves OKC, but I'm not sure if he would fit with Wade and Butler. What about Chris Paul? He's obviously friends with Wade. That might be interesting. Besides that, there's Kyle Lowry.

    i'm 33 and i'm pretty sure south park was really popular when i was in like high school. 32 and South Park came out right before I started high school. I still remember all the commercials on Comedy Central leading up to the first episode. While I'm not a die hard fan, I've seen most of the first 7-8 seasons and an occasional new episode. Your use is just not funny. Haha. Whether or not you personally found it funny in this instance is not the issue. I just find it hard to believe that you could literally not understand the reference, and sit there going, "what?".

    yeah i honestly had no idea what the [expletive] he was talking about at first either nor would i have made the reference since i don't think i've watched more than 5 minutes of south park in total in my life. This has to be an age thing. I'm guessing you guys are probably 10 years or so older than me, which means you would have been adults when South Park was really popular.
