  1. Brian Duensing has the highest fWAR of any relief pitcher on the team -- fourth-highest of any pitcher.
  2. It's too bad his assist didn't count since Dave Cameron said throwing doesn't matter.
  3. On the one hand, as Agony and Ivy said, Castillo is solid and has some good stuff. On the other hand, he's a Reds pitcher pitching against the Cubs. Cubs by 15.
  4. Before long, he'll be throwing 62 mph like Jake.
  5. Holy horsefeathers, Heyward drew a walk.
  6. Since the start of last year, the Cubs, as a team, are hitting .280/.372/.519 against Reds' pitching.
  7. Baseball Savant is pretty good. You can break things down there and search and filter for all different sorts of things. Here is Avila's spray chart from this year: http://i.imgur.com/1xvoHdH.png He's a pretty weird player. That is weird as horsefeathers. It doesn't even seem possible. Is this something that's pretty consistent throughout his career? Yes, he always like that. I'm not sure if there are many other players like that. Don't know for sure.
  8. He pretty much pulls every ground ball and hits every fly ball the other way. And he also sprays line drives to every field, equally. He's good a really weird looking spray chart. What's the best site to look at spray charts? Baseball Savant is pretty good. You can break things down there and search and filter for all different sorts of things. 10. Good time for a grand dong, new fella.
  11. Another thing that we haven't seen as much of this year as last: Javy Tags. Probably not fair to expect them, like, 3 times a week like he was doing last year. More just happenstance of having the opportunities. But, we definitely haven't seen as many Javy Tags.
  12. Dammit, Javy. What the horsefeathers?
  13. Really confident we'll dong the hell out of them this week. Just hope we can get some nice starts. Q needs to be more consistent.
  14. Give me some of that sweet, sweet Reds pitching.
