    Trades

Between BJGE and Moreno you can get a pretty good RB committee going just playing the match-ups the rest of the way (if you don't flip a WR for a RB). Of course, TB has a nice playoff schedule too. I haven't paid much attention to the health situation of the other TB RB's. What are the odds Blount starts losing carries?
  2. Not exactly sure where to put this since the guy isn't in college anymore but...AJ Moye had a stroke. Yikes
  3. Start 2: S. Jackson v. ATL M. Turner v. STL D. McFadden v. PIT I guess I gotta go matchups here and play Jackson and Turner, no? St. Louis has actually been better against the run than I realized.
  4. It's going to be great signing someone like Milwood and an old middle reliever and than having not quite enough money to sign someone like Dunn so we can, you know, fix the real problem with this team.
  5. Well, thanks to NYG S. Smith's injury, the trade got done last night. I'm sure you're all very happy for me.
  6. I actually thought you were being sarcastic and was wondering why people got pissy. Heh
  7. I think Hulls can run the point. He took care of the ball better than any guard on the roster last year (not saying much). I think he will be very effective though as a catch-n-shoot guy with a legit PG and inside game. I guess that's more what I'm saying. Hulls is probably better off as a spot-up shooter than he is as a PG. Problem being of course there aren't any other legit options for full-time PG. I think we'll see Jones at point and Hulls at off-guard pretty often.
  8. Not to be a downer, but I'm not exactly thrilled at the prospect of Hulls being a solid PG. I still think we'll see Jones there often, which may also leave something to be desired. They are still going to have major turnover problems this season, IMO. edit: guess raw beat me to it.
  9. Cody said that he would start recruiting players immediately and he mentioned Yogi by name. With IU needing another point guard by 2012 and at least 2 other players recruiting him it would seem like IU has everything lined up for Yogi. IU needs a point guard by 2010. Quite, you. Daniel Moore is going to will himself into a viable PG.
  10. Can't help but wonder if we have Baylor to thank for all of this.
  11. haha...even as an IU fan I would have probably enjoyed seeing some people go off the deep end.
  12. word. Peegs was saying IU about 20 mins ago but I didn't want to jinx it. Yogi, please.
  13. The guy has backed off the trade now. :?
  14. Being offered McFadden for Steve Johnson. I mean, I have to do this, right? My other WRs (start 3) are Boldin, D. Jackson, Floyd and Welker (and/or a FA pickup like maybe Nate Washington). Other RBs (start 2) are Steven Jackson, Turner, Green-Ellis and Felix Jones (barf). I'm relying heavily on Steve Johnson with Floyd injured (and on bye in week 10) and Welker becoming garbage. As much as I'd love to have McFadden, I'm wondering how much of an upgrade he'll be over S. Jackson and/or Turner. Will it be enough to offset the loss of Steve Johnson? How likely is either guy (McFadden or S. Johnson) to keep up their current pace? I hate to rely heavily on either one of those offenses. All 3 RBs in question have great playoff schedules. Having the depth at RB would be great in case one of them goes down with an injury. Right now if I lose one of my starting RBs my season is essentially over.
  15. Has the media come off their stance? The media is praising the balance from Sunday and are practically taking credit for the win by insisting that Martz run more. Right. People seem to be taking the absurd position that running more = win, despite how ineffective the running game actually is. If anything, the insistance on more running plays has/will only increase.
  16. If Hendry is going to take the position that they can't afford Dunn and then go sign people like Garland/Westbrook and middle relievers, he's even more inept than I thought and that is saying something.
  17. The problem is they have to put pressure on him to force him into making horrible throws, which they've been unable to do with most QBs so far this season. He's not going to make those terrible decisions and throws if he has time.
  18. Ultimately I don't really think Cody is necessarily a make-or-break recruit although obviously as we both have acknowledged it could have a ripple effect with other recruits like Yogi. People do have their hopes up about it and it seems the common theme is that signing Cody would be symbolic of IU finally regaining control of the state of Indiana on the recruiting scene. This is how I'm looking at it, though I don't think many IU fans are. Cody will be a big candidate for let down if he goes to IU because people think he's better than he probably is. It's more about setting a tone in-state and getting the top players than it is what he will actually do in an IU uniform, in my opinion. There's also obviously the hope for some dominoes falling, once Zeller commits (especially with Yogi).
  19. Also, if we are assuming that the Cubs aren't going to go back to being a $130 million payroll team than I'm even less inclined to trade away all the players that have some potential to provide cheap production in the coming years for Adrian Gonzalez.
  20. If we are talking about the payroll dropping $25 million, then I might need to jump in on the movement to just blow this thing up and start over.
  21. The longer it has taken the more confident I've become about IU's chances, but I still really don't know. It would be big to get him for perception as much as anything else. He's obviously a huge name in-state. Losing out to UNC would be understandable (though still a little disappointing). Losing him to Butler would be agonizing.
  22. If the Cubs really "will not be able to afford" Dunn at something like 3/40, they are in bigger trouble than I thought.
  23. I wouldn't go that far. It wouldn't be absurd at the right price (and limited to one-year, or at best a team option for more). I have little faith that's what Hendry would give Wood though.
  24. Not actually seeing Martz' make these comments and just reading them, I often get the sense that he's just messing with everyone. There was something sort of insane he said the other week that made me think that too, but I can't remember what it was now. Like he's just screwing with the reporters with some sort of dead-pan humor that none of them notices. Maybe that's just how I rationalize.
  25. fwiw, raw, i just saw that Fred Taylor was back at practice today. not sure what that may mean for BJGE (hopefully not much because I need to play him this week too).
