  1. Too many walks. He's going to get burned at some point.
  2. don't want to say it, but you got to.
  3. losing already? lame. sounds like there are some issues with the wind?
  4. Well, yeah. I'm not screaming so the people on the next fairway can hear me. Anyone riding along with me in a cart or something is definitely subject to my vulgarity. Also anyone on the green/tee box with me at any given moment.
  5. This. I practically speak in tongues when I play golf. Big reason why I really hate getting paired up with someone I don't know.
  6. If Soto and Soriano both got going, we could really have some fun. We'll see...
  7. whoa...that could be a nice boost.
  8. I love that their ad is currently some fatty chowing down on on a burger. Jesus, the guy just looks like he's in total agony too. Is he on an episode of Man v. Food or something?
  9. What if a great outing by Silva means he can be a good fifth starter and the team is thus better off for the whole season with Marshall being one of the view proven reliable arms in the pen? That is the best case scenario and should be the one you root for. One great outing by Silva will not change what he should be expected to do for the rest of the season no more than one terrible one would. Sean Marshall would be more valuable in the rotation than in the bullpen, especially considering the way he has been used. And, I dont need da Bum telling me what I should root for. Then don't post saying that you root for our SP to suck. A fan rooting against his team's own players is contradicting himself. Again, I wasn't even serious with the comment about wanting it to be his last. Even if I was, I would be rooting against Silva so that the Cubs would improve every fifth day Can't you have this stupid pissing match via PM or something and stop [expletive] all over the game thread?
  10. Big fan of Sean. The guy has (IMO) more or less been denied a spot in the rotation that he deserves more than once. He just moves on and goes about his business and has been very good out of the pen, even prior to this season. I have high hopes for Gorzelanny (probably higher than many anyway) as a starter so I'm hoping that Marshall will settle in to become the primary set-up man along with maybe Caridad.
  11. No blackout out this time, so I can watch. I presume that was the only thing standing between the Cubs and glory on Monday. Wait, are we (already) hoping that Soriano will be injured/benched? Geez.
  12. BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE WHOLE STORY FIRST!!! Is it because Prince Fielder is fat? I think it's because fat fatty wants to show everyone his moo-moo.
  13. Bruce Miles has basically been an advocate for starting Colvin in RF as well. I don't get it.
  14. My expectations aren't where they've been the last few years, but it's opening day, and I'm excited. Go Cubs.
  15. I really don't think a Nady/Colvin duo in RF can come anywhere close to matching Fukudome's numbers this year. Certainly not close enough that I'd deal him off to get a relief pitcher, even a very good one.
  16. Are there really people willing to hand Tyler a starting corner OF spot? Wow.
  17. True, but college sports kids missing school happens all the time. Some guy on the Score this morning was talking about Bowling Green hockey team having to go to Alaska to play 2 games. And one of the games they play is on a Sunday night, so they can't fly out until Monday. He said you have to figure about 3 days worth of travel in addition to 2 days of playing. So yeah...missing class for sports is nothing new at all for college sports...even less popular ones than mens basketball. right. also, many of these teams probably miss almost an entire week for conference tournaments the week before the NCAA tourney. i'll just say, anytime the NCAA makes a move that appears to be a money grab i get a little uneasy, even though i'm not really opposed to this expansion.
  18. Honestly, the only compelling argument I've seen against expansion is the issue about players missing an entire week of school that first or second week (depending on how they schedule it).
  19. i could easily see the cubs finishing 4th, but i have a hard time believing they might be worse than the astros or pirates.
  20. That's gold, baby.
  21. So what's the over/under on the number of games played before we start seeing articles/hearing radio hosts clamor for Colvin to be the full-time starter in LF or RF? Four? After we set that, we need to set the over/under on the number of games before those same people start calling him a bust.
