  1. oh shut up Nope, don't think I will. He's been the best Cubs for 7 years, and I like him as a player because of that. Why should I go into hiding? Let's just skip to the accusations of group think and get it over with.
  2. oh shut up Nope, don't think I will. I too think everyone should hate the Cubs' best offensive player over the last 4-5 years!
  3. Wait, is Ramirez hitting for Soto? That can't be right, can it?
  4. Yeah, I really didn't get why Soto wasn't used instead of Nady if he's coming in to the game anyway.
  5. Thanks, goony. Cots is blocked at work and I meant to check that after the game last night and forgot.
  6. Which is why I'm worried that he'll be the one sent to the pen instead of Silva. What is Gorzelanny's contract situation? I know he was arb-eligible this year and signed for $800,000 or something. When does he reach free agency? It would be great to get some (relatively) cheap production in the rotation (in addition to Wells).
  7. I'm pretty high on Gorzelanny and definitely wouldn't want to trade him for some mediocre middle reliever.
  8. Man, who the hell are they going to send to the pen for Zambrano? As good as Silva has been, I'd rather it be him than Gorzelanny.
  9. Colvin was already in the game. He's not pinch hitting here I know, but he should have been pinch hit for With who? Nady But Nady was clearly going to hit in the pitchers spot. I guess the one risk is that Colvin hits into a DP, but either Colvin or Fukudome (in the pitcher's spot) was going to have to face the lefty.

  11. Hey, if they want to sign him to a minor league deal or use him in mop up duty or whatever, fine. I'm just worried about Lou going to him in key situations. I mean, there is a history there.
  12. Len just mentioned during the broadcast that there are reports that they've signed him. Ugh
  13. A friend of mine has always refused to watch early season hockey because it pales in comparison to playoff hockey in terms of pace and intensity. I think every playoff game I've seen this year has paled in comparison to the pace from last night's game. Even watching the Eastern Final (I only saw game one) is like night-and-day when watching the West.
  14. I've seen several people reference Dempster as over-paid and I just don't get it.
  15. If I remember right (I may not), he's given up several walks. That might be why they haven't called him up.
  16. Thanks for helping to make it a good drunk, Hawks. Man, these two teams are a blast to watch. The pace at which they play up and down the ice is amazing.
  17. Well, I suppose that's not totally crazy. I think it's a little premature to jump to that now though. He could be in the bullpen the rest of the year (if the Cubs for some reason get into the race) and still be fine, IMO. As most have said, it's a much different situation than Cashner. ETA: Don't get me wrong. I don't necessarily encourage the move (since I don't think it's the glaring weakness that the Cubs do), but I don't think it's the end of JJ as a starter.
