Oh well. First game back in the Midwest after being out West for a month. Need a day to adjust. Will be better Wednesday.

I think it was nice to get one of the West Coast trips out of the way during a time when the travel wasn't far and they had been living in that time zone for a month.

I was a Heyward fantasy owner from 2013-15 and can confirm he is terrible with the bat in April. He'll be fine eventually. Also came into the day with a .375 OBP.

Agreed. And that often takes days and days. No way they need to wait for it to go down to know it's an ACL tear. If they did it would sometimes take weeks for teams to diagonose a torn ACL. I suspect they already know if he did or not.

If he was out for the year would they have immediately placed him on the 60-day DL or no? Which maybe they have for all I know.

Still trying to be optimistic. I was thinking about how Theo said he could never top that Dexter moment. But maybe he can when Schwarbs is in the lineup at catcher tonight?

Why I'm sad is that I have been confident that our offense would be dynamic even if we lost one player. But now I have to feel uncomfortable that it happened in the third game and ponder what might happen if we lose a second. OK, probably more like a second and third. Still.

Well it could just be a sprained knee. If it's the ACL then they already probably know it and just aren't saying it yet.

I know it's being dramatic but I loved what Heyward did this inning. Got the guy in from third and then had some nice baserunning with the tag. Love that little stuff.

I'm still a bit rusty for the 2016 season, but why in the world would you hate Zobrist? I'm sure this has been talked about, but I missed it. I respect your right to hate but am confused why it would be directed at him.

This tweet makes my brain hurt. Explain it to me. It isn't anything you didn't already know, apart from the fact that Fowler has never started anywhere apart from CF, and Montero has at least one start in both LF and RF during his career, which is stunning. EDIT: It seems to have hurt my brain too. Scratch that about Montero. What am I missing. It says Montero only has played at catcher. Or no?

I wonder how many other guys thought something similar. When he walked onto the field, a lot of guys are just kind of staring at him. Like an old friend just stopping by on the way to Florida that they weren't expecting to see and wondering why he's there.
