  1. Good job, Ross. That's what we can get out of you. Didn't try to do too much. A frustrating kind of hit for the competition is where you can thrive.
  2. I'm not going to ask Ross to get a hard hit or anything. So I'd take a swinging bunt that he somehow beats out or an error on somebody. Just would love another run or two here. Sort of extra credit for this inning.
  3. I always just assume the Pirates outfielders are going to catch everything that it always shocks me when they don't.
  4. Really tough to always make contact against a guy like Cole, but would have been cool to see Cszar get Russell to third. The little things, I tell ya!
  5. I mean, I still wouldn't have expected so much dong requests from Zobrist at 26, either. Face it, Heyward isn't a big-time donger. But I've said enough on this now. I have been the dong spoiler too much this afternoon. May we all see a bunch of dongs tonight.
  6. Gawd I can't wait for him to dong so the requests to see a dong will be relaxed.
  7. Please don't take my use of bitches too harsh. I just like to say that. Bitches = dongs to me. By all means, I would love to see him bust out that dong.
  8. I mean, when he's been pretty consistent in the dong department for most of his career except for that one year (which wasn't really that prodigious), I think it might be a bit much to say that it's not an unreasonable expectation. The reasonable expectation is that he will dong 10 to 13 times. Not 25 to 30. So it's odd that people are always bringing up J-Hey's dong like it's this big part of his game. It's not. Not even close. Actually Heyward's averaged 14 HRs a season and 19 per 162 games. Early season has him putting the ball in the air more often, which should be a good thing moving forward. Well, yes, because it's jacked up by that one 27 homer season. In the past three seasons he has hit 14, 11 and 13. His other three seasons he's hit 18, 14, 27. I'm thinking since he has hit 11 to 14 in four of his six seasons, that that is more likely where he is going to end up. But the dude has never been a "prodigious" home run hitter, and the focus on that part of his game like he suddenly is going to be one is odd to me. Sure, anything is possible. But the safer bet is that he hits 10 to 14. So, again, not sure why people constantly ask for a Heyward dong like he's Rizzo or Bryant. He's Zobrist. And nobody is constantly asking for Zobrist dongs.

  10. Exactly. I don't really care if he goes 0-for-4. I'd like his defense to be out there in Pittsburgh if possible. But Maddon is the man. Dude usually knows what he's doing.
  11. I kind of feel dirty that at least one of Soler, Baez and Heyward isn't in the lineup. But maybe that's just on me.
  12. It's more just understanding that not all dongs are created equal.
  13. From the moment he signed in December I anticipated this thread being made. There is a good chance J-Hey is never going to look great on offense. His value, again, is that he does everything really solid when it comes to baseball. Doing a bunch of really good things adds up to a great player. Fielding in all aspects, baserunning, walking, getting some hits and a few home runs. The only thing I get annoyed at with J-Hey is a bunch of you bitches constantly asking for a dong every time he comes up when you should just be asking for a double or single or perhaps a walk and a steal.
  14. By the way the crowd reacted I thought he got it. Oh wait.
  15. Why? I thought he was going to get blown away.
  16. Posted this and then saw the Duke's post. I liked his post better.
  17. Messed up at bat since the one strike call 82 feet off the plate.
  18. Oh man, that one poster is bored now.
  19. Plus, I thought LaStella got a really slow start.
