The first time should've been a K. True. But the second time was a pathetic five-pitch walk that continued a rather shitty outing.

Hammel is making things much tougher than they need to be.

I don't even know how to wrap my head around how good this team is. Someone's got to be the best team in the league every year, but I can't remember a team being so much better than everyone else by so much. They could spot the other team 3.5 and still be over .500. And that's with two starters injured, a few guys in AAA who should probably see the majors later this year, and the pitching staff being managed to go easy on them. And it appears Bryant has gotten better despite already being 24!

Am I the only one who doesn't care about the save stat? Other than, I suppose, that we get them when needed.

Probably, hopefully, it's just because they are throwing a bunch of strikes in those situations.

rondon wasn't even warming up with 2 out and 2 strikes on zobrist Yeah because he warmed during the top of the 8th Right. Wood pitches to Harper and right when Wood leaves the pen between innings Rondon gets back up.

I know that's usually not a great reason, but I remember watching Pujols a lot in the later part of his final season with the Cards and saying on here how he just doesn't look the same and was striking out on some horsefeathers I hadn't seen before. Which is why I didn't want him in free agency. Granted it was just dumb luck, but still.

I feel like I want Cubs fans to give Harper a nice ovation each time he comes up. Talk to him nicely while he's in the field. Sort of a small free agent pitch if Ricketts can come through with $400 million.
