    So the actual stat is that the Cubs are the worst team in terms of getting a run home from third with less than two outs, right? Or was that something else?

    it's a scary thing, no doubt. A really fun season comes down to one extra game when they deserved at least one series. But I'll still take it and enjoy it.

    The Cubs lose today, win the next two plus the make up game, its 2 games. Pirates are in St Louis next week But do the Cards have anything to play for at that point or are they basically an expansion team for those games? They might only be 3 games up on the Pirates by the end of today, they'll want to make extra sure to win at least one to ensure they can hold off Pittsburgh themselves. True, but this is assuming we win the next two, which means the Cards could build a lead by Monday.

    This has nothing to do with anything but I was just watching the Kerry Wood homer against the Marlins in 03, which was the single best live moment I've ever been part of. I just can't imagine what it would be like to win it all.
