I won Game 7 tickets to the NLCS against the Marlins. I was more than happy not to be able to use them while watching the late innings of Game 6. Son of a bitch.

I was cheering for the Giants and Nats to both lose and lose a lot, and I'm still not ashamed of it.

I just read David's question but none of the responses, but the answer is yes. Yes I am happy they did what they did and always was. And imagine being many of the other 12 teams that will have made the playoffs one or zero times since 2011 and how much further along and cooler we are than them despite many of them "trying."

Wait. The Cardinals are starting an outfielder who can't throw the ball? I know he's hurt, but that's like an outfield version of Jon Lester, and that seems like it could cause far more problems.

Has anyone checked Bryant's home-away splits this season? It's pretty dramatic. Other than Rockies players, are home-away splits something to be concerned about or is it often times random from year to year?

I see no reason to take Haren out of the game. It's a pretty excellent time to let a guy make his MLB debut and get the nerves out in this setting.

Hey, the first playoff game at home is going to be insanely stressful until they actually win another one of the damn things. At least with the one-game playoff it's over quick if they lose as opposed to slow, statistically (almost) inevitable death if they lose the first game at home in a 5 game series. Win it and not only have they finally won a playoff again again, but one that moves them along. It exorcises a [expletive] ton of demons and starts the stampede. Plus Kris Bryant hits 495-foot homers at home and has struggled overall on the road his first season. I'll take home Kris Bryant even if it makes some Cubs fans nervous being at home.

Because I don't think 116 really is that abusive and it's just a 2-0 game with the wind blowing out. You want to lock up these games and there is nobody who likely gives us a better chance than him to do so.
