  1. I know people often seem annoyed by Hairyducked, but what's his track record? Is he right most of the time? Like what was his take on Rizzo a few years ago? Just wondering. He seems like his opinions are backed by research he does, which I respect. I'll say I don't agree with his criticism of Theo and I'm more willing to say that guys can improve when they are only 23 and don't have to start declining when they are 24.
  2. Only problem is that this is crunch time. Unless the dude is really hurt nobody is going to go on the DL just to get some rest. I have a hard time believing it's anything that bad. He played the entire game and still legged out a triple at the end.
  3. Oh, well. I'm just appreciative that the offense continues to be entertaining.
  4. If we could just get back to back doubles right now.
  5. Props to Motte for limiting the damage. That inning could have totally gotten away from him.
  6. You are hoping they lose a game? What is wrong with you? That's the most positive post he's made in weeks, and it's really not that unreasonable as I think we would all take that result. I get that he puts out a lot of bad posts, but don't just blindly bash him. I was just being a smart ass.

  8. Hope Soler can do something, as I really wanted a run this inning. That said, proud of the Cubs' offense these last two games. Reminds me of the Giants series when they wouldn't go away. We have made things tough in back to back games after giving up a ton of early runs.
  9. There you go Cardinals. Now hang on you sons of bitches.
  10. I don't ever want to see you list a score where the fewer runs are put first again. I don't care what you want I don't care that you don't care what I want. Clean yourself up.

  12. Four more like that and we will be tied going into the 4th. ETA: wait. We will be winning!
  13. Six more like that this inning and we enter the 4th all tied up.
  14. The Giants, and Cardinals, are sort of pissing me off.
  15. I mean, I don't like that the Cubs have likely lost three straight since that fun streak. But let's hope the Cards can win tonight and get back out there tomorrow against the Braves without too much damage being done.
  16. OH CRAP, A PITCHER WHO CAN'T HIT. I will say that he is sort of right. Lester adds nothing extra. But what he does well is thankfully what matters most.
  17. DL = DiamondMind's Lap Yeah, that one will be tough to top for at least today. Nice work. ETA: Hahahahahahahhaha
  18. Would think this would be him going to SF. With Pence on the DL and its regular 2B still out till perhaps September, getting another offensive option got a bit more important.
  19. And only 3 ahead of the Giants If the Giants and Cubs both lose three games the rest of the season we go to the playoffs.
  20. I think Kris Bryant's dad would have more success than Hammel tonight.
  21. Don't think Hammel has to worry about getting pulled before he thinks it's too soon.
  22. more loser talk worry about the giants when they're worth worrying about. for now, on with the cardinal killing. given how much better it is to win the division than a wild card, some of you guys are really treating these two possibilities (the giants catching us and us catching the cardinals) disproportionately IMO. it's not some obvious no brainer. if you're scared, tho, buy a dog (and root for the cardinals) because that's definitely the safer way to go i'm not scared But the chances of the Cubs catching the Cardinals are lower than the Giants catching the Cubs, so I first concentrate on destroying the Giants. If along the way that happens to help us destroy the Cards -- and don't forget the Pirates as well -- cool. But first things first.
