  1. For sure. If we are giving Joe Nathan a chance, how can Storen not be part of the convo?
  2. Screw him for that part, if true. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-cubs/frustrated-john-lackey-after-cubs-lose-milwaukee-big-leagues "This is the big leagues." You wouldn't know it by how you pitch, you redneck idiot. Yeah. That's totally unacceptable by him. Not cool.
  3. What an odd time to be upset with his pitching, a few hours after a quality start.
  4. He sucks on offense but we should have enough other sluggers that we can afford to keep him and his beautiful defense. Defense is beautiful, sure. That .639 OPS makes my eyes bleed though. The .699 of Soler may not make them feel that much better.

  6. Shitty players seem to dominate the Cubs, such as Wilmer Flores, Billy Hamilton, that shitty backup catcher and this shitty guy.
  7. nothing is wrong with him...he's had a few shaky starts lately but he's been more than worth what we gave him and a good acquisition. most of this board just doesn't like him and they rip him when given the opportunity. Gotcha.
  8. I don't get all the Lackey hate, but I must not also know which numbers to look at to see that he sucks. I mean, his ERA and FIP seem solid for a No. 3. His K/9 is a career high, he's walking the same as his career rate and his WHIP is even lower than his career norm. What's wrong with him, other than just being John Lackey?
  9. Cubs are 6-2 with Sofa's Gif of Starlin. It's just a coincidence but it's also a fact.
  10. A measurable amount, huh? How much, exactly, would that be? I'm also curious to hear your explanation of why "the crapshoot thing" is overstated. If Miller and/or Chapman were on the team, would we have won the NLCS last year? What if the April/May version of this team is what we see in the postseason? We won 11-4 in series matchups in April/May (with one tie). That equates to .733333 of series matchups we won. What difference would Miller and/or Chapman have made, and is that worth Kyle Schwarber? We agree more with this. But to be fair, just because we probably don't win the NLCS last year even with Chapman/Miller, it doesn't mean we might not win it with them this year. If Chapman also had two years of control after this one like Miller, I'd be tempted to trade Schwarbs for a lockdown bullpen. But he doesn't, so it's just not that exciting to us.
  11. So is there a chance they still try to get Miller or Chapman?
  12. I enjoy that Montgomery is under control for like 18 years, too.
  13. I can't think of any of their relievers right now. Who would a bullpen guy be? Paxton? Oh, I thought he was a starter. I know nothing of this team, apparently.
  14. Haha. That would be amazing. he has kinda been crappy this year but it would be fun I can't think of any of their relievers right now. Who would a bullpen guy be?
  15. As in a fan or like a commentator? Because that's just not acceptable at all. Ravech said the Cubs have prospects that can give you what Schwarber can. Maybe not HRs, but better defense maybe more speed. And Chapman throws 105mph and the Yankees shorten games, blah blah blah. Said, "yeah Chapman doens't guarantee you a world series, but neither does Schwarber" Holy horsefeathers. Like, how do you not at all factor in control? Five years for two months, and if you think the Cubs are a lock for the playoffs, five years for two weeks. Come on.
  16. As in a fan or like a commentator? Because that's just not acceptable at all.
  17. I tought the tag came after his leg hit the plate. Like the throw beat him but the tag didn't. Happy to be wrong, though.
