  1. Would like to think two runs means we are leading entering the second inning, but I'm very uncertain.
  2. Maybe Sofa has to go back to the Baez picture. Or better yet the Castro one. That's when the Cubs were playing at a historic pace.
  3. Is it just me, or are guys hitting a lot of homers again these days?
  4. This is exactly where I'm at. It's just so bizarre that an entire staff from starters to relievers would mostly all just faulter at once in somewhat spectacular fashion. And we are talking about some really good pitchers.
  5. Yup. Sometimes it's hard to imagine a team with two MVP candidates in the middle of the order not just falling into a win. Now if only they could pitch.
  6. That's a good question. In 2008 what was like the worst stretch?
  7. This is not at you and I acknowledge I am wrong and suck at math, but I wish people would stop saying we have a big lead. It doesn't seem that big.
  8. Everyone has pitching worries beyond 2016, such is the nature of pitching. The Mets are currently living through the pain of that reality right now. The Cubs will definitely have to focus improvements in that area, but they've done pretty well in building staffs so I have a lot of optimism. There is still a good chance Jake, Lester, Lackey and Hendricks is super solid for next season. I wouldn't expect any kind of real signing until the next year. Next year's pitching FA class is really weak though if I remember correctly
  9. Provided our front office is intact they are too good to not have a plan for that, whether with trades or signings.
  10. I really thought Lester v Kuehl was ours today. I really, really did.
  11. No, but there is reason to believe it continues long enough for the Pirates to get back into it and they spend the rest of the season battling it out. Like I just said, the Pirates are just getting over from sucking for an entire month; this stretch COULD very easily drag on to varying degrees for another week or two after the ASB. This is the part I'm sad about. We have at least made this a race when a few weeks we were up by like 14 in the loss column. I remember thinking it wasn't that enjoyable being this far up this quickly and things during the season not mattering that much. I feel stupid about that now.
  12. I remember last July thinking the Cubs weren't going to make the playoffs based on an offense that had been terrible for much of the season. And then they went off. So I feel like the pitching can do the same this time.
  13. Nice job by Warren there after the back to back homers to not unravel and get some much-needed outs.
  14. It seems pretty bad. But I'll put my trust in you. I have no reason to think you'd lie.
  15. What an awkward way for the Cubs players to have to go to the All-Star game.
