  1. I was so worried Rivers and Favre would both end up in the Super Bowl. I probably would have cut myself. You have the opportunity to punch Brady, Rivers, or Favre in the face repeatedly...who do you choose?
  2. Absolutely not. Rivers is king douche.
  3. I hope Phillip Rivers drowns in his tears tonight.
  4. no one's saying luck is the reason they won. they are obviously the best team in the AFC and they dominated today. all we are talking about is how every time manning threw a pick or the ravens got a big play on offense something went the colts' way. it's not a hard concept to grasp. Yep. 17-3 and Manning tosses up a pick, but Ed Reed, normally a smart football player, fails to account for the possibility that someone might strip the ball from him from behind, so the Colts get it back. Then Manning tosses up another pick and Reed takes it deep into Colts' territory, but a Ravens player commits a dumb interference penalty that was unnecessary because the ball was tossed into double coverage anyway. If either of those picks had stood, 17-10 could have changed the complexion of that game. But that's why the Ravens were the 6 seed and the Colts were the 1 - because the Colts don't do that. They are almost maddeningly machine-like in their ability to avoid backbreaking mistakes and kill opponents for theirs. Garcon's play wasn't luck, he just played it perfectly. He didn't go up there wildly swinging his arms and happen to knock it loose. Dallas Clark getting plowed into, allowing Reed to then catch the ball, wasn't luck - it was plowing over the receiver which then made it easy for Reed to catch. I understand what you guys are saying, but maybe luck just isn't the word you're looking for.
  5. The Colts are so lucky that they outplayed the Ravens in every aspect of the game. Lucky bastards.
  6. Caldwell is allowed to live.
  7. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704281204575002852055561406.html?mod=e2tw Apparently there's only an average of 11 minutes of actual football in a football game.
  8. Saints Colts Cowboys Chargers
  9. What...the... It's a complete rip off of Tim and Eric. It's basically this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21UP0frYg-E mixed with some of the other weird things they've done.
  10. HE DOESN'T ACT LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE HE TALKS TO GIRLS
  11. I was trying to think where I knew that from.
  12. I'm much rather the Colts play the Jets....but this is freaking football porn.
  13. I strongly believe the Pats will lose.
  14. Now he just needs his second SB MVP to go along with it.
  15. (not based on their stats this season, just who I see as the best going into the playoffs) Manning Brees Brady Rivers Rodgers Favre Romo McNabb Warner Flacco Palmer Sanchez
  16. It's definitely happened more than a handful of times. I am drawing a blank on examples but it's happened multiple times in the last maybe 10 years (1 rematch that is) NFL Network said last night it has happened 9 times and the team that won the final week matchup is 4-5 the following week. I remember one year that the Colts lost big to the Broncos in week 17 (the usual Peyton Manning one-series-and-done), then turned around and beat the Broncos (and I don't think it was even close) the next week in the playoffs. 2003 Week 16: Broncos 31, Colts 17 (full participation). 2003-04 Wild Card Game: Colts 41, Broncos 10. 2004 Week 17: Broncos 33, Colts 14 (with Manning, et al, resting). 2004-05 Wild Card Game: Colts 49, Broncos 24. The 03 week 16 game is the only NFL game I've ever been to. Thanks a lot, jerks.
  17. But the Jets will be out in the first round, so it doesn't really matter. Damn it!!! The Colts always play like crap in the playoffs when they sit for the last game or two at the end of the season. I hate this. The Colts wouldn't expect to play the Jets in this scenario. But the Jets making the playoffs would keep out all but one of the Steelers, Ravens, Broncos, Texans, and Dolphins. It would also possibly/likely set up a second-round matchup with the Bengals, who would be the next least-intimidating playoff team (in my opinion). That makes sense, but I still don't understand not telling the players you're going to pull them at some point in the game. Trust me, I hate everything about how this was handled, much less conceding the game. I'm just trying to assign some logic to the decision, especially the decision to pull Manning when one more TD drive ostensibly would have ended the game (at least against that offense). I think they just kept Peyton in until he got to 50,000 yards for his career. That's the only thing that makes sense with the timing, and that's completely stupid. After this, if the Colts don't win the superbowl, Caldwell is probably not going to end up being a very popular coach during his stay. The fans and a lot of the players seem pretty pissed.

  19. Anthony Gonzalez is officially out for the season. The Colts have done alright without him, but I was looking forward to having him back for the playoffs.
  20. Peter Gammons is cool.
  21. I like only having the DH in one league. I also wish they would stop regular season interleague play. I think the differences between the leagues makes baseball unique and not playing during the season made the world series more special. Maybe that's just because I was a stupid little kid that pissed on myself, but I liked it better that way. But for the NL, I definitely prefer no DH because I'm a nerd that likes the added strategy.
  22. C.C. Sabathia got 19 wins last season. Your move, hot shot. I'm... confused. It proves BW right, imbecile.
  23. C.C. Sabathia got 19 wins last season. Your move, hot shot.
  24. I would mos def be on board with Swisher. He's one of my favorite non-Cubs.
  25. I had Manning ahead of Brees before this game and I still do after. How? There is no logical argument for this at all. They both lead undefeated teams and Brees beats him in every stat save 80 fewer yards (on a lot less attempts though). The only people that support Manning support him because he has an undefeated and is Manning. Sorry but this year there is another who has an undefeated team and doing better in practically every statistical category. I never said that Manning was having the better season. What I said was that Manning was the more valuable player which, you know, is the award. Indy's leading rusher is averaging 3.7 ypc. NO's leading rusher is averaging 5.3 ypc. Indy has a running game ranked No. 31 in the league with 86.1 ypg. NO has a rushing game ranked No. 5 in the league with 138.9 ypg. Brees has far more weapons around him than Manning does with Colston, Henderson, Meachem, Shockey and Bush. Manning has Wayne and Clark, sure, but who knew who Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon were before the year? Manning has done it against opponents with a .478 winning percentage. Brees has done it against opponents with a .402 winning percentage. If the award was given to the guy with the best season, then sure, give it to Brees. But Manning has been more valuable to his team and I believe he's more worthy of the Most Valuable Player award. I agree with this. Before last night it seemed like Brees was running away with all the stat leads. If Manning can keep it close, I think he'll win it.
