  1. He had a huge nasty mole thing when he was at Purdue. I'm guessing the scar is from having it removed.
  2. Stupid Saints just played really good.
  3. http://pics.livejournal.com/ack_attack/pic/004pa6y3
  4. New Orleans is like the island in Lost, the way it mystically brings people to it. First Brees and now Cubbiebum.
  5. It's crazy to think about how things would have played out if the Colts had drafted Ryan Leif. What an awful, awful thought.
  6. Let's talk about lazy. Is being lazy not reading anything said by Brees or Sean Payton and just assuming stuff based on absolutely nothing but your own ideas or is lazy reading about why Brees decided to sign and watching interviews where Payton and Brees talk about it? ESPN the Mag just had a story on this an issue ago. Payton was taking Brees to the airport and he was going to fly to Miami. Brees said he was leaning towards Miami but then Payton missed a turn and got into a neighborhood that was destroyed (claims it wasn't on purpose). Brees saw the damage and told Payton he was going to sign with the Saints because he felt a calling to help the city. So yes Brees signed because of Katrina. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-breesdecision020110&prov=yhoo&type=lgns #-o How are you not getting this?! After his first choice decided to go with Culpepper, he realized that Lord Katrina had instilled a new destiny into his soul. His new destiny was to be the savior to all who were suffering in New Orleans. And now, the fact that some people in New Orleans are still sad and don't have new things yet is going to make all the Saints better at football tomorrow. ITS NOT THAT COMPLICATED
  7. I kind of doubt Jesus would be able to throw as tight of a spiral as Manning unless He cheated and used His God powers...and Jesus doesn't seem like the cheating type to me. Advantage Colts.
  8. peyton manning being awesome at football has a lot more to do with the game than katrina or who dat. Depends on how you look at it. Katrina is why Brees signed with New Orleans and still serves as the inspiration for a lot of players. No, because of Katrina, Brees wanted to play for the Dolphins. They were his first choice because of how uncertain the Saints' future was. You're wrong about everything you said here.
  9. But the Colts played the super bowl in Miami 3 years ago. Advantage: Colts.
  10. OMC will. what a zinger I thought it was hilarious Great, now I don't want to think it was funny anymore.
  11. I'd settle for Harrison but I doubt he shows up as he as shown his true selfish colors and seems no longer involved in the franchise whatsoever. I thought losing Harrison was going to irrevocably damage the Colts to the point they weren't going to be good this year? Because it was foreseeable that two no name WR's would turn out to be pretty damn good? Without them it would have been a big loss as the passing game would be much easier to defend. When have the Colts not had good receivers while Manning has been there? It seems like there might be more to it than luck.
  12. More like 2-0. More like 1-0. 2-0 is the lowest possible score. It also means a defensive play is the only score which I assume the whole 3-0 thing was a joke due to the best two offenses are in the Superbowl. Ok thanks, I didn't understand.
  13. More like 2-0. More like 1-0.
  14. Colts - 38 Saints - 34 It's going to be awesome.
  15. and they would be REALLY stupid to say that. Maybe I'm just blinded by my bias, but I don't understand why it is a foregone conclusion that they have no chance. I think the teams match up very well. This seems like the most well matched up Super Bowl in a long time. Two killer QB's, two killer offenses, suspect defenses. I definitely think it will be a good game. The Saints obviously have a good chance of winning. However, the Colts defense is really good, and while Brees has had a great season, I'd still much rather go in there with Manning. I'm a pretty big fan of Brees though, probably my second favorite QB. But I think both sides of the ball will be great match ups. I'd give the Colts a 55-60% chance of winning.
  16. They didn't wipe the floor. Chicago was in it until the end. The yardage isn't that meaningful, since that was essentially what the Bears were designed to do, give up yards but not the big play. First, I didn't say they did. I said they came pretty close. And the Colts defense was designed the exact same way as the Bears, so I don't think that distinguishing on those grounds is terribly relevant. Indy may have been designed that way, but they weren't as good at implementing that design. The difference was Indy's offense was much better, but Chicago defense was also better and that was a game throughout. The Colts didn't wipe the floor with them, but apart from the shaky start, the Colts controlled the game pretty well.
  17. I remember being in downtown Indy after they beat the Patriots in 07. Good times, although I doubt it was nearly as crazy as New Orleans last night.
  18. Looking back at recent Super Bowl match ups (not how good the games were, but how good the match up appeared to be): Cardinals/Steelers: It was cool to see the Cardinals in there, but nothing overly exciting about the teams. Giants/Patriots: The undefeated thing was interesting, but everyone thought this would be a blow out. Bears/Colts: Good, not great. Seahawks/Steelers: Doesn't get much worse than that. Very appropriate that it took place in Detroit. Eagles/Patriots: Good, not great. Panthers/Patriots: Nothing overly exciting. Then before that the Bucs/Raiders and Rams/Titans were both pretty exciting match ups. I think Saints/Colts trumps them both though. Edit: I mixed up Rams/Titans and Rams/Patriots. I'm so embarrassed.
  19. You weren't excited for the Bears-Colts? :( Did you just assume it was going to be a blowout? (please make me feel better about my life and lie to me) I was definitely excited, I just really like how the Colts and Saints match up against each other. Looks to be an extremely exciting game. Plus in 2006, the SB was kind of anti-climatic after the AFC Championship.
  20. I can't remember a Super Bowl match up I've been more excited for. This is the game I've wanted all along. And after the Colts game, I really liked how Manning emphasized "kept our mouths shut" during his interview.
  21. What's the first thing about football? Trent Dilfer
  22. The ONLY way to measure a QB is by Super Bowl wins. Anyone that thinks Marino was better than Dilfer doesn't know the first thing about football. If the Colts win it this year, does Jim Sorgi move into the top 10 all-time? Move into? It would solidify.

  24. *Ahem* I was closer with the margin of victory at 24-10. Booyah.
  25. Colts-Saints is going to be an awesome game.
