  1. Darvill got demoted, which hopefully means Bruno is good to go.
  2. I'm guessing MLB isn't even over .500 this year.
  3. I was just about to come on here about bitch about Coghlan again. I'll wait until his next AB.
  4. Rizzo was close, but Bryant is almost .200 OPS points better than what Javy did last year....which is just bonkers.
  5. Apparently CJ Edwards just tweeted that he begins throwing on Thursday.
  6. I have a really good feeling about Pentecost. It'd be great if he'd sign at a significant underslot.
  7. The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks.
  8. Bryant is 2-4 with a BB and his OPS did not improve today.
  9. Is something wrong with Kris? #1 coming into the year.
  10. With how cautious they are with regular prospects, I can't imagine it's at all serious if they were even considering letting our #1 prospect play today.
  11. If Bryant ends up in the OF, he can platoon with Valbuena...but strict platoon, zero AB's against righties. He still has a .956 OPS against lefties. If Olt is out and Bryant goes to OF doesn't that make 3b the obvious landing spot for Baez? Lot easier to find a 2b, and especially with Watkins (and others) near ready as 2b. Unfortunately it's far from a given that Baez will be ready next year. If he is, and feels more comfortable at 3B, that's where he should play. But I think Baez at 2B and a Valbuena/Olt platoon at 3B is the best combo we could come up with with the players currently available. If Baez goes to 3B, I don't think we have a better option than Valbuena for 2B.
  12. Defense sucks and all pitchers have arm AIDS, I want a guy that smacks homers.
  13. I mean, I'd keep an open mind and give him a chance to prove me wrong....but I'd initially be very disappointed.
  14. If Bryant ends up in the OF, he can platoon with Valbuena...but strict platoon, zero AB's against righties. He still has a .956 OPS against lefties.
  15. Paniagua having his 2nd good outing in a row. Baby steps.
  16. Penalverbomb! ....is that a thing?
  17. The Cubs are 1-0 with a +8 run differential since 5/31.
  18. If another team isn't willing to give us something really nice for him, I wouldn't mind giving him a 2-3 year extension.
  19. Coghlan's playing time is especially confusing, unless they really see something they're sure they can fix. Even with our scarce and terrible OF options, there are many better options.
