  1. It seems like whatever dude the Brewers grab off the street to play middle infield for them on a given week ends up with a 1.500 OPS and multiple game-winning HRs, so sure, let them give up their best prospects for Machado. I don’t see how it could make them better.
  2. this must be what it's like to be a fan of another team and read "bryan lahair, 2012 all star" cuz who the horsefeathers is george sherrill? he's one of those randos I actually remember. he had a ridiculous amount of saves in the first half even though he sucked I recall the Cubs trying to trade for him or people wanting to trade for him or something.
  3. Slow down there. Many of the All-Star games in the 50’s had an NL outfield of Mays, Aaron, and Musial. I don't care enough to dig into it, but I imagine the seasons Trout, Betts, and Judge are having would be tough to match, even for those 3.
  4. That NL outfield...woof. I mean Harper is awesome but has had a horrible first half. And then a couple of old turds who've had a hot stretch. It's especially glaring when compared to Trout, Betts, and Judge, which is maybe the best outfield of all time.
  5. As soon as I become a True Believer in Robinson, he goes and poops on the mound.
  6. I don’t think he could have predicted Winker would play it *that* bad.
  7. 4 pitch first is a nice change of pace. When was the last time a Cubs pitcher threw fewer than 20 in the first?
  8. Time to admit your $39m mistake, Theo. The money isn’t crippling and I’m sure everyone will forgive you. But it’s time to fix it.
  9. Add on a throwing error. Best game ever. I'll bet you he's teaching Beating the horsefeathers Out of Coolers 101 tonight. They named him player of the game for going 1-4 (single and 2 k’s) with 2 errors (they were ruled hits but were both errors). It was a very Indianapolis thing to do.
  10. That reminds me. I need to go down for an Indians game. I haven't been checking out the minors much this year so is there any really good prospects in that International League? I don’t really follow it, but Francisco Mejia with Columbus (Cleveland’s AAA) who Indianapolis played tonight was ranked #5 by BP preseason.
  11. Add on a throwing error. Best game ever.
  12. Sean Rodriguez is playing 3B for the Indy Indians tonight and so far has struck out on 3 pitches and had a soft line drive bounce off his glove and I am having a lot of fun laughing very loudly at him.
  13. So there’s a pretty good shot they top that at C, 2B, and SS this year. I thought Almora was going to be on pace to be close, but either his defensive value has gone way down or I’m misremembering where he was at the last time I looked it up.
  14. Brewers with a go-ahead hr from Brad Miller and a game-winning hr from Nate Orf.
  15. Happ definitely invited him over for a “drink” tonight to discuss strike zones "Please have a seat anywhere you'd like."
  16. Why is Luke Farrell warming up. Someone hurry go tell Joe he is bad and this is a 1 run game....as of now.
  17. When Bryant is back, I would much rather keep Bote than Lastella.
  18. It's time for the Cubs to start wopping some back-to-back dingers.
