  1. I would love nothing more than to say I pushed the destruction button of Busch Stadium. Like that Old Milwuakee commercial "It just does'nt get any better than this"
  2. I believe a radio station (KEZK I think) here in St. Louis is having some sort of contest where if you win you will get to push the button to implode Busch. I not sure of the specifics or what the contest will be. Anybody out there residing in the St. Louis area know anything about this? A CUBS fan needs to win this if it is true. That would be something to show up to push the button wearing a CUBS jersey.
  3. People talk about the lack of plate discipline on offense (which, indeed, is a problem), but few talk about the walks the pitchers give up, which may be an even bigger problem. Despite leading the league in strike-outs and being second in the league in lowest BAA, the pitching staff has given up the most walks in the league other than Colorado. Now it might be because of the pitchers we have, but it is just as maddening...especially to see the young pitchers come up (Novoa, Wuertz, Wellemyer, Leicester, etc.) and struggle to throw strikes. Something has to change, not just at the major league level, but in the system as a whole. Because it seems that not only do we fail to realize the value of a walk on offense, but we fail to see the consequences of them on the defensive side of the ledger as well. Bringing pitchers in the game and then having them intentionally walk the first batter they face is'nt helping either. Thats just dumb!!!!
  4. Why ask why??? Try Bud Dry....What ever became of that dry beer fad anyway? Who knows why Dusty does what he does. He learned baseball on Venus while everybody else learned on Mars.
  5. I hope I made everyone proud. It's amazing how nervous you get when they tell you that you're next. You know the camera is rolling and you're standing a few feet away from a player that you idolized. And for some reason I was fine, but the moment the producer told me I to come to the mic, I was suddenly aware of the need to empty my bladder. Good job and you could'nt have asked a better question....That southern accent came across loud and clear....
  6. I'll drink to that.
  7. That kind of stuff never happens to me. To be honest if I were in your shoes at that moment I doubt that I would have recognized him.
  8. He may as well just retire....
  9. A laugher is long overdue. Although I like the close ones and they are fun to watch, but my ticker needs a break.
  10. Dude, optimism at this point is moot. The Cubs have BARELY won the games vs St Louis, and Frisco. I mean we have gotten totally lucky. The Cubs SHOULD have won 6 in a row. They lacked driving in runners in scoring position. The team as a whole is not doing well, and IS choking. To win the wild card, we need win streaks. I tip my cap to the Astros, looks like they'll win it again this year. St. Louis had half their line-up on the DL and Pujols did not start game two and we narrowly took 2 of 3.
  11. You probably guessed on 2, 4, and 8....correct???
  12. That's what I had as well. 7/10. I missed question 2, 4, and 8. Oh well, 70% is a C- in college level. Go me! :D I missed 2, 4, and 8 as well....I think they should throw those three questions out that way I would get my 100%
  13. After I finished I felt like I should have scored a 9/10, but I ended up with a 7/10.
  14. After I finished I felt like I should have scored a 9/10, but I ended up with a 7/10.
  15. Augie Ojeda, I'm sure Dusty misses him. He was the best toothpick fetcher of all time. Hawkins I'm sure Dusty misses him closing games. I apolgize for not posting seriously at this time....I'm at work not enough time to post a serious thought.
  16. When he brings it to your door, does he say "Pepperoni, WOO! Hamburger, WOO!, Bread Sticks, WOO!" Yes he does, WOO! no tip for you, WOO!
  17. He's delivering pizza again.
  18. Joe actually said that? On national tv. I remember that I could hardly believe what I was hearing. I think the CUBS were on a tear offensively that day and Joe said I hope they don't blow their whole wad in todays game.
  19. I must say that I have run out of expletives to describe Baker's poor in game decisions. Fire Dusty right now and bring in Girardi if possible.....
  20. Also why Fontenot with a man on down by one with two outs? I know he was a lefty against Carpenter the righty, but I would still want someone up there with the capability to give the CUBS the lead with one swing. $#@!%^$# Dusty
  21. @#&%*!#$%@!#%&............you stupid @$$ Is Dusty really that stupid?? His moves just baffle me. I can't understand his logic.
  22. Why did'nt Dusty take down Burnitz for Dubois last night when Larussa went to the lefty reliever? Thats what I want to know.. Dubois will get very little to no playing time while Dusty is managing. Dusty is.... well I just leave it alone.
  23. Don't exaggerate, it's not a forfeit. Macias will get a hit about 23% of the time and walk another 2-2.5%. So there. With 2 outs and a runner on (not in scoring position by the way) down by one that situation calls for a hitter with power. Is Dusty really just that dumb or is he too stubborn to give a powerful Dubois a shot. Dubois could'nt have done any worse than Macias. I think Dusty is both.
  24. Man, a part of me would love to see the Cards and Cubs meet up in the NLCS, but I'm not so sure the other part of me could handle the tension. It would be fun to watch, but I would be a nervous wreck. If they were to play in the NLCS and the CUBS were to lose I don't think I could handle it.
