Stewart has really been hitting the ball hard so far this season. I really like what the season could hold for him. -
I wish Marlon Byrd was still as good as he was when he was on the Rangers in his last season there.

Can either one player corner outfield? If LaHair wants to stick in MLB on the Cubs roster he better figure it out. Rizzo isn't being moved off of 1B for Brian [expletive] LaHair. just wait till the all star break when he's hitting .280 with 21 HR and a .360 OBP and he's Brian [EXPLETIVE] LaHair If LaHair can do what he's done offensively since coming to the organization, I'd love to see if he can play a capable outfield considering the options. I'd have no problem with putting him in RF, with Rizzo at 1B and trying some sort of quasi platoon in CF/LF with Byrd/Dejesus/Soriano. That is until Jackson is ready to come up and play CF (which may or may not been sooner than Rizzo) and then LF can be relegated to Byrd/Dejesus/Soriano.

LaHair is going to be good and Rizzo's just not going to give a freak and pistolwhip him and take the job anyway in June. Can either one player corner outfield? I'm really starting to dislike Byrd. I know there really isn't a reason to call Jackson up for a while, but Sappelt and Campana should start to get starts over him soon.

I know it is only the 4th game, but Sveum is not very impressive. I really thought the approach at the plate would change, but this has been an aggressive Cubs team so far. It's pretty hard to change an aggressive hitter to a patient one. This^. It's pretty hard to change guys approaches when they've gotten to the majors with them, the change to approaches is going to start in the minor league system and probably more with the low-mid level guys than even some at AAA (Rizzo, Jackson, Vitters).

Speculation is that he didn't want to go to LA cuz either a) He didn't like that Kobe told him he'd be the 3rd option in the offense or b) he didn't want to follow in Shaq's footsteps and go from Orlando to LA. My personal belief in why he doesn't wanna come to Chicago is because of Thibs. If Dwight didn't like SVG, he's not gonna like Thibs. NJ is offering him power. He thinks he can basically be the most powerful guy there, and be in a huge market to boot. Agreed. I think out of all of this we have learned that Dwight isn't in to working hard or about winning. He knows that if he comes to Chicago Rose/Thibs are two of the more intense, if not the most intense, guys in the league and winning comes before everything else and they demand you bring it everyday. Dwight just isn't that type of guy. Dwight just really looks like a huge ass after all of this and it's clear he isn't that hard of a worker and doesn't really care about winning.

Oh hey, great Blake Griffin is a freak athlete and can jump high. Who knew???? Let's see him do a real basketball move like take a guy off the dribble, consistently hit a 10-12 ft. jumper, or make a back to the basket post move on a guy. Until then I don't get why he's lumped into the "superstar" level of basketball players.

Exactly. How is Campana insurance for Lahair???? Who is the everyday 1B if Lahair is DL'd? Baker? If this Lahair injury is something going to keep him on the DL for a while I wouldn't be opposed to bringing DLee back on a cheap one year deal. We can't stick Baker at only 1B and keep him there, he will still be needed to play 3B/2B and potentially the OF once in a while. Plus it's clear they aren't going to rush Rizzo.

I think it's Chris Paul. Chris Paul is awesome, I dont know how anybody can say differently. Blake is so limited that I cant consider him a truly great player; numbers aside. You cant go to Blake in a big situation because he has like two moves and no real face up game. Against a good defensive front hes useless. He also is a bad defender and has a jerk face. Lol, I know Paul's really good. But I don't get why he hasn't taken the Clippers to the next level. What are they missing? He should be good enough to make them the type of team that can win a title. They are kind of a limited team offensively. Martin, Blake (who I agree is very overrated and really has no offensive skills other than dunking) and Jordan can only score in the paint, none of them have any real post moves they can't take guys off the dribble and all they basically can do is dunk. They really don't have any guys that shoot that well from outside (Paul, Williams, Young, Foye , Simmons and Butler are their best shooters and all shoot under 40% from 3) and they don't have guys that can get to the basket or take guys off the dribble outside of Paul. They also are a bad defensive team, I think they are in the lower 1/3 of the league in defensive efficiency.

I liked Decker with Tebow throwing the football. He's going to be a stud receiver with Manning throwing to him. Didn't Porter destroy his knee in the wild card game? Is he even going to be ready for the season?

I agree and they could still bring in another solid receiver like Wayne or Meachem. On another not of why hasn't a team been linked to a guy/pursued him is the Packers and Mario Williams. I know it's not their MO to build through FA or spend big there, but they are at a point where they have built all they can through the draft and now need to plug holes through strategic FA additions. It's well known they desperately need/are looking to add a pass rusher opposite of Matthews and they have money available.

I think there might have been some changes in the new CBA about guys having FA delayed through super 2 and what not. But I think it used to be around sometime in June. Are you saying June for Rizzo or Jackson? Theoretically it's only 10 days in the minors to start the year to delay FA unless that changed in the new CBA. I'm not sure how many service days Rizzo accumulated last year, but it would be that + 10 for him. I didn't know it was only 10 days, maybe I confused the super 2 thing and delaying FA. But that's good to hear. I almost positive there were some slight tweaks to how delaying FA works.
