  1. That's [expletive] criminal
  2. Sorry, I seem to have been in a deep freeze for about 5 years, your new outfields frighten and confuse me.A .700 OPS would have been good for 51st in the league last year amongst OF. Ahead of guys like Ichiro, Rasmus, Maybin, and Stubbs. That's perfectly fine for your 4/5 OF who isn't going to be playing everyday in the current run environment.
  3. Yeah especially from your 4th or 5th one, at that.
  4. Was that guy about to throw up in the red Rangers jersey?
  5. Ryu is looking likes he's quite hittable and it doesn't seem like his stuff is all that great. Definitely not a #2 like some articles said he could be when we missed on him.
  6. I honestly don't think any of their position players would be. Maybe 2, Altuve as a backup MI and Carter in the AL as part of a DH platoon?
  7. These MLBN guys are like 3 idiot HS baseball coaches sitting in one of their basements discussing the game
  8. Darvish perfect through 7. Also there is some chick sitting behind homeplate at the Dodger game whose hair is a brighter orange than most hunters coats.
  9. Ryu is starting for the Dodgers tonight on MLBN. First hand look at the one that got away
  10. Perfect through 6 and the commentary by the MLBN guys doing play-by-play on their live look in is insufferable, Vasgersian and Bowa are a whole lot of derp right now.
  11. Eh, I figure it will be all variations of Jason Berken and Miguel Socolovich for the next few months. True. But I figure that way we have one to cover extensions and/or minor league call ups/trades across all MLB and a Clayton Kershaw extension, Wil Myers call up, etc. don't get their own thread.
  12. Darvish has and perfect game and 9k's through 4 innings in Houston
  13. Should we start a "2013 Regular Season Minor Moves" thread?
  14. He jumped, landed and his leg looked was bent like he was down on his knees, except it wasn't bent at the knee but halfway down his leg. It was Joe Theismann's injury basically. I still think Marcus Lattimore or Napoleon McCallum were the worst I've seen. Lattimore almost kicked himself in the face without his thigh even moving. Knox's injury is worse than everyone's because it was the back. I think the leg injuries are "uglier" to look at though given that you can see stuff sticking out of places it's not supposed to and complete limpness of the leg. Shaun Livingston will forever be the most horrific injury I have ever seen. The Baron Davis knee injury last year, or the year before, when he was on the Knicks is up there for me along with the Bogut Elbow/Forearm injury. Bogut might be #1 for me.
  15. So Cano dropped Boras as his agent/agency and signed on with Jay-Z's agency as his first client (which happens to be a real thing) and Jay-Z is apparently in the process of becoming an agent.
  16. Could be, mine is I think they want to do a grand ribbon cutting/glad handing/photo op thing opening day Monday at Wrigley with all the parties out on the field before the game and guys giving interviews to local media/broadcasts.
  17. Theo was spotted at a Starbucks in Rosemont with a land contract in his hand an hour ago
  18. I thought he was a FA after next year. But I agree, with pitchers attrition rate, we should wait a while to extend him. I'm think ASB time of his final year here (assuming he continues to pitch about where he has been the last year and he hasn't had any injuries/signs of regression).
  19. All Grit vs. All Pixie Dust matchup right now on ESPN
  20. Yeah I definitely can see us finishing with a better record and I wouldn't be surprised, I too thought/think they are a little better though. I think their lineup is a little deeper (or at least their bad isn't as bad as our bad), they play a little bit better defense, and they do have Cole/Taillon waiting in the wings that could give their rotation a boost over ours. Yeah the bullpen is a definite edge, but as you said that can change pretty quickly year-to-year. I think them and us as if both rosters stay about the same throughout the year without big injuries/trades are 75 win teams +/- 5.
  21. Article comparing Bryant to Barun/Burrell/Holiday. Bryant and Brauns college numbers are quite similar (outside of SB). http://baseballdraftreport.com/2013/03/27/kris-bryant/
  22. do not like. Fits right in our plan of acquiring tjs recoveries
  23. Soriano had a bad game, he was very good last year. He doesn't belong in Marmol's class of stink yet
