  1. I really don't care about minor league teams W/L records and it's not like the I-Cubs have a ton of guys to get excited about anyways.
  2. Marmol. Axford has completely lost control of his secondary pitches and his fastball, while faster at 95-97, is much straighter than Marmol's and guys can just sit on that now. At least Marmol still has innings where his offspead pitches are on and his fastball always has some tail/sink to it, so even if guys sit on Marmol's fastball they still will have a harder time squaring it up.
  3. It appears Navarro and Sandoval were on the same offseason diet
  4. Doesn't Hairston or Sappelt make more sense here?
  5. Regardless of advancing him, that still was [expletive] stupid
  6. What? Dale what are you doing here? Bunting?
  7. The good news for Brent is that schools are out in about 1 1/2 months so he should have no time signing on with a little league team
  8. You're allowed to us your glove, Rickie
  9. Whenever Barney comes off the DL (this weekend/next week I think) the corresponding move to make space better be to DFA Brent.
  10. Nice swing, Brent. That ball was in the catchers glove before his bat was even in the zone.
  11. I have the FSN (Brewers) broadcast on. So far tonight I've hear "HGH" and "Steroids" chants directed towards Braun while in the field and at the plate. So that's nice.
  12. He has to be one of the worst major league catchers at doing this. He's moving all over the place when he's receiving a pitch.
  13. Wellington is [expletive] awful defensively
  14. *swoon*. No. 1 prospect in the system by the end of the year. I can see that scenario playing out. Hey now, I predicted that about a month ago. I can definitely see the writers/scouts who value proximity/nearest impact to the majors being higher on Soler than Baez after the year even if Baez continues developing in a positive trend.
  15. Soriano hit the living [expletive] out of that ball
  16. I really seems like Castro is trying to see more pitches and hit to RF so far this year. I say this with only seeing about 2.5-3.5 games.
  17. How much more valuable is a night game than a day game? Do they think they will draw more/sell more merchandise? Or are more night games more valuable to a future TV deal?
  18. *swoon*. No. 1 prospect in the system by the end of the year. I can see that scenario playing out.
  19. That, along with minor league fields not always being in the best shape and balls don't always take true hops or rolls on them.
  20. Seemed like Ricketts implied yesterday that a referendum of some kind would have to take place. A referendum for what? Are they seeking public money/assistance now (like a loan, bond, TIF district, etc)? Expanded night games? I guess they might need one for that. I took David's post as meaning a referendum was needed to move forward with the project, would they really let a referendum for expanded night games hold up moving forward with construction/renovation?
  21. This is his first game in CF. He's played three games at 3B and one at 2B. Thanks. I like that, his future is likely as a utility guy, might as well start making him play different positions now. I'm interested to see how he does this year and how he performs offensively when his BABIP normalizes.
  22. I noticed Tim Saunders is playing CF tonight. I understand he's blocked at SS by Baez, but have they given up on him as a SS/IF? Or are they playing him all over the place?
  23. Seemed like Ricketts implied yesterday that a referendum of some kind would have to take place. A referendum for what? Are they seeking public money/assistance now (like a loan, bond, TIF district, etc)?
  24. Lineups: Cubs: David DeJesus CF Starlin Castro SS Anthony Rizzo 1B Alfonso Soriano LF Nate Schierholtz RF Welington Castillo C Luis Valbuena 3B Brent Lillibridge 2B Travis Wood P Brewers: RF Norichika Aoki 2B Rickie Weeks LF Ryan Braun C Jonathan Lucroy 3B Alex Gonzalez CF Carlos Gomez SS Jean Segura 1B Yuniesky Betancourt P Wily Peralta
