  3. The $20 million, at least for accounting purposes, is probably spread out on the books for whatever the length of his initial contract is. No?
  4. Packers are favored by 3 now that Rodgers is playing
  5. Injuries beget injuries. I find the blasé "oh if he breaks it no big deal!" Kinda galling. There are already complications possible, it's really not anything he wants to go through. Didn't Danny Amendola come within a few centimeters of being dead from a broken collar bone in the last couple years? It's a potentially very serious problem, moreso than most broken bones would be. Yeah, depending on how bad/big the break is you can do some serious damage to nerves/veins/arteries.
  6. AND has two working eyes, give him 20 years
  7. So the 24th date is the last day to get him to agree to sign with you?
  8. A few questions: -When they say posting complete on Jan 24th is that the last day a team can submit a bid up to $20 mil and then contract negotiations go from there? -Is it known if Tanaka will be visiting teams in the US or will he be staying in Japan and teams/FO will be going there to pitch him?
  9. They have a limited pass rush with him, without him they virtually should get no pressure on Cutler.
  10. Yeah, Jim Bowden is a [expletive] idiot. He's worse than any of the local idiots in Chicago.
  11. I wouldn't mind letting Arrieta and Hendricks battle it out. Hendricks seems to be locked in to starting at AAA, and I don't think that's unreasonable. Yeah, hasn't Jed and/or Theo explicitly stated that he's going to start in AAA despite having an excellent year last year and they pointed to there still being things they want him to work on and/or need to see improvements in some areas?
  12. Miami has to control their own destiny, they are the 6 seed right now They don't, because they win the 3 way tiebreaker, but not the 2-way tiebreakers. So if they all win, Miami goes to the playoffs, and if they all lose, Miami goes to the playoffs, and if just Miami wins, Miami goes to the playoffs, but if just one of Baltimore/San Diego also wins, then Miami does not go to the playoffs. Oh god I just looked it up, it really is a mess. Wouldn't they go to the playoffs though in a two way tie with SD? They have a win over them, they do have a loss to BAL though so I get now why a 2 way tie between those 2 results in BAL going.

  14. I could definitely see them winning a few games in the playoffs
  15. Romo is out for the year with some sore of back injury
  16. It would be a natural transition right after TWTW evaluations
  17. Brett Tomko is trying to make a comeback, at 40, apparently.
  18. Yeah it is definitely interesting and seems to have benefits but also downfalls. There probably is not a perfect way to stop tanking/teams being bad/increase parity. For example this year there are clearly teams tanking (or avoiding moves that could have made them a little better) but were there enough moves or talent available to add out there that the Bucks/Jazz/76ers/Magic/Etc. could have made to really be all that much better (at best, imo, they could have made moves on the margins adding 10 or less wins)? I don't think enough talent exists that every team can be competitive every year or even attempt to be competitive. There's going to be bad teams and likely multiple every year regardless of the rules put in place. Look at the Cavs, Nets, Knicks they clearly made moves with the intention to not tank and they are all awful. I get that they want to eliminate teams purposely trying to tank but I don't see this necessarily creating more parity.
  19. Yes, so it should have been Pittsburgh ball, with a penalty taking them back 15 yards from the spot it was batted. Yeah, not saying the refs got it right, but there definitely was a penalty. They just fucked up what the penalty was.
  20. It is illegal though to bat the ball forward out of bounds to improve field position though, regardless if possession is established or not, right?
  21. The "Wheel" http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/86940/the-nbas-possible-solution-for-tanking-good-bye-to-the-lottery-hello-to-the-wheel
  22. They're the best drafting team in the league. I don't really curse their "luck" such as it is. Are they? Or do they have Aaron Rodgers? Damn near every meaningful player they have they drafted along with like (95%) of their whole roster
  23. There's also supposed to be between 5-8 inches of snow falling in GB/Eastern Wisconsin on Sunday during the game, idk who that favors (if anyone) in the game. But the conditions likely won't be ideal.
  24. Absolutely, especially a lotto pick in this years draft. No one is going to offer a lottery pick for Thibs, especially not in this year's draft. I was saying IF someone would offer you a lotto you absolutely do it. Not that I think it's realistic or a reasonable return for Thibs.
