  1. If he really did fix something last year and his 2nd half results just weren't luck/sample size I'd be fine going 4/60-5/75 on Ubaldo. He put up a 3fWAR in the 2nd half, with a 10.7 k/9, 2.17 FIP, 2.99 XFIP, and that was with a .311 BABIP.
  2. Wouldn't mind seeing Skulina and Clifton added somewhat soon
  3. I have no problem with the Brewers comp and think it's a pretty good one. Baez/Bryant-Braun/Fielder (two potential superstars) Soler/Almora/Alcantara-Hart/Weeks/Hardy (3 potential very good regulars with the potential to have a few All-Star type seasons)
  4. This isn't an Onion article quote... http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2014/story/_/id/10439397/father-michael-sam-struggling-news-son-gay
  5. i can't either, but the second-worst record locks them into a top 5 pick and gives them almost a 90% chance of a top 4 pick, which is fine in a draft this good. plus the sixers have the pelicans pick as long as they don't get extremely lucky in the lottery. a top 5 pick plus drafting somewhere around #11, plus MCW and nerlens noel, is a really strong base to rebuild around. hopefully enough to get a couple of good free agents to jump on board. I agree. If they get a little lucky/play this right they are potentially building something special. And I meant the Bucks comment more towards pointing out how bad the Bucks are. There is a team in rapid decline, losing by 40+ 2 games in a row, that is going to make moves at the deadline to lose more, the season is only ~1/2 way over and there is a team that they still won't be able to catch.
  6. Who and what the [expletive] is that?
  7. Blackburn Black Z
  8. I can't see them catching the Bucks
  9. Where did you hear this? Is it in regards to a Samardzija extension? http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/02/10/theo-epstein-speaks-extensions-big-money-free-agents-draftdevelopment-more/ Thanks. I think it mostly makes sense and don't really have a problem with it being a policy

  11. Whats the upside for the Knicks? Snell and Butler are nice pieces, but having Boozer on the books next year means they probably can't add a star for at least another year. Felton has been absolutely terrible this year and is making close to $4 m each of the next two years. Shumpert has been mediocre to poor (I think) this year and is making 4.3 mil split over the next 2 seasons. Melo can still opt out after this season (unless the trade is predicated on Melo resigning). I just don't see the upside here for either team. Ok fine there's an upside to getting Melo, but if you believe Melo would sign with the Bulls, get him in the offseason, don't let him come here in a lame duck season (without Rose/Deng) and let him get a taste of Thibs (I guess you could spin this as a potential positive too) before becoming a FA. Sign and trade in the offseason. Maybe the Knicks can get below the lux tax with the move? Or at least minimize the penalty? Also maybe they really feel that Melo isn't coming back, at least they are getting something and not just losing him for nothing to FA.
  12. With Towers probably anything ranging from Barney to Samardzija+Baez+Bryant.
  13. That's perfect in just about every way imaginable
  14. Arroyo to the Dbacks- 2 years $23 million Maholm to the Dodgers
  15. Both, probably 60/40 on not as good to beating each other up
  16. Gonna have to turn it down though. I was hoping it would come up later on in the decade. 2016/2017+ Same thing here, signed up around the same time hoping I wouldn't come up for another 5ish years, passed on them when I got the offer a month or so ago.
  17. Don't go. Or at least give as little money as you can to the HOF when visiting. I will never step foot in the HOF/pay to be there.
  18. The Simpsons already had this game http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/the-simpsons-predicted-this-year-s-super-bowl-way-back-in-2005-142931230.html
  19. ok then FLIER!!!!!
  20. Bynum to the Pacers
  21. What's Fujikawa's status right now? I haven't seen anything but assuming he has had no set backs you have to figure he could be ready within the first 2ish months or so of the season. He was hurt/had surgery fairly early in the year last year, right?
  22. Bystro's track record is looking pretty good. Too bad he doesn't make stuff up to go along with it like that other guy so he can post more often. I think he called the Hammel thing during the year last year, that our FO liked him a lot and he was gonna be a target.
