  1. Between Bryant belittling umps, Javy not caring to know the names of half the guys on the roster and Soler wielding a bat at the opposition whenever he is wronged we are going to be the most hated team in baseball (and probably most of the meathead Cub fans) and I love it.
  2. He's going to ride the bench and the rage will be glorious. Or the rage that he isn't taking Castro's spot
  3. Welp, it's probably about that time to start the fecal league standings thread...
  4. that was a child? The one that was a child was a child, yes. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--b_PeliP3--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/yx8rf5xi1nxfowzkptjh.gif hahaha, I was picturing the woman that looked like she saw a relative shot. Didn't see the kid. That's unfair. Here it is
  5. I'm not doing that for him. I'd say any of Bryant, Baez, Russell, Alcantara, Soler are untouchable in a trade for Hamels especially if we are taking on all of the salary. I'd do something like Amora, Jeimer and Villanueva for him.
  6. I don't know if the Phillies are actually willing to deal him, but if they are, we should be more than able. We have the money. We have the trade chips. And he's exactly what we need. He's 30 and under a monstrous contract through 2018 with an option for 2019, but if we plan to start spending next year, I can't think of a better way to start. But what does the package look like? We can certainly absorb a pretty huge chunk of the salary, which should allow for a lesser prospect package, but it's still going to be a doozy. Amaro is probably right there with Towers when it comes to having no idea how they actually go about valuing their own players and other teams players.
  7. He probably is due for a call up to Tennessee soon, he is approaching 400 PAs in Daytona
  8. jesus this really is insane isn't it A few years ago, if guys like Vogelbach, Villanueva, and Candelario all sucked and Johnson and Edwards barely pitched due to injury, it'd be a disastrous farm season. Now, it barely even matters. What is the skinny (HA!) on Vogelbach? What kind of trade value would he have? I think he'd have more value as a secondary/ancillary piece as part of a larger deal than he would by himself. If that makes sense. By himself I don't think he brings a lot back and is probably more valuable keeping.
  9. Escalator? You mean bonus? He probably has one of those, I don't think I've ever heard of a clause in a contract that called for the contract escalating if you get an AS appearance.
  10. Seriously, I'd move him up to AAA if he's still hitting remotely close to this in 1-2 weeks.
  11. where did you see this? lebron somehow going to the knicks would be a nightmare http://nypost.com/2014/07/07/knicks-76ers-talking-amare-deal-and-possibly-shumpert-too/
  12. Philly-NY talking an Amare trade
  13. Bryant had a single in his first AB, fwiw
  14. hot gam thread taeks funny joke, you dork. search.php?keywords=bosio+racist&terms=all&author=scrubmd&fid%5B%5D=26&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search Skyball'd
  15. Pigeons and seagulls are NOT migratory birds. Yes, this was discussed. Tunney evidently just called the Cubs a minor league team, by the way. I'm sure that'll make it easier to settle at this point. Hahaha, sore loser. How many minor league teams/stadiums are the sole reason a few square miles of business/local economies exist and artificially inflate property value?
  16. And Correa is out the rest of the year with a broken fibula
  17. Yeah, I wonder if they try and make a run at Gasol now. I saw they have met with Gordon Hayward so I could see them offering him, Deng, or Parsons a big deal on the money they won't spend on McBob
  18. Houston offered max but less than Heat who won't offer max? I typed that wrong, on my phone, the offer from the Rockets will be more on aav but potentially less overall amount due to the 5th year that the Heat have/will offer.
  19. The Heat just signed McRoberts to a 4 year $23 mil deal using their full MLE
  20. Houston offered Bosh the 4/96 max deal, less (at least on AAV) than the Heat will reportedly offer him as they want to give him less than max money.
  21. Agreed, but I'd do something like Bonifacio+IFA money for a comp balance pick. I think. Like Raisin said it's hard to judge the value of IFA money.
