  1. The US is playing like a SP who's ERA is 2 but FIP is 5 and has a BABIP in the low .200s
  2. That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure.
  3. MLB's prospects, "pot loophole." http://deadspin.com/how-to-keep-a-prospect-from-getting-suspended-for-weed-1598690156
  4. If he doesn't sign, does he become a FA or can he go to college? How does that work?
  5. That's not a pay cut, he got the max he could get. Oh. Why can't he get the same team max that melo can get from New York? Service time thing? Yeah, more or less. And what TT said, the big money jump doesn't start until next year. He's still on his rookie deal this year so it doesn't affect them either way in their pursuit of LBJ this offseason.
  6. That's not a pay cut, he got the max he could get.
  7. Kyrie signs extension to stay in Cleveland 5 years guaranteed (guessing around $70 million) can be up to 6 years $90 million.
  8. At this point if we are at an absolute impasse with him on a new deal, I'd absolutely do a deal where Hunter Harvey is really the only significant piece from Baltimore. I really hope we could figure out a way to get Bundy though him+Harvey in a deal probably isn't happening.
  9. Force Houston to match and spend the money; consolation prize if they don't. That's walking a fine line, sure offer $8-9 mil a year and let them match. Either they match and it probably makes it impossible for them to get Melo, or they don't and you get Parsons on a good deal. But I'd be careful offering the $12-13+ mil a year that is probably more in line with offers he'll get. I personally don't think he's worth it at that point and if you offer that and the Rockets don't match I think that's too much money to throw at a complimentary piece.
  10. Probable: Hammel, 1 of Russell/Wright, Samardzija 50/50: Bonifacio, Scheirholtz, Barney, Villanueva Happens under right terms: Wood + Valbuena (probably have more value to us than what they can bring back), Jackson (who knows if we are willing to eat salary, if so he could have a market)
  11. God I hope we can somehow get Bundy in a Shark trade, I want Bosio working with him and that cutter
  12. I'm pretty sure their rotation leads MLB in WAR and is up near the top in a lot of other categories.
  13. This is 03' Prior/08' Harden level domination Arrieta has shown over the last monthish
  14. There's no need to be reckless and let him try and complete the game, but I'd imagine he could go 1 more. Letting him pitch 8 and 9 probably isn't smart though regardless of situation. Assuming he doesn't have like a 10 or less pitch 7th and 8th. you realize he's throwing a no hitter right? just making sure because the way you worded it makes it seem like you randomly were wondering if they'll let him throw a complete game or something Yes I am aware, there's no reason to make him throw 120+ pitches

  17. That's a Fonzian level 14 game stretch for Schwarber
  18. I want to know what kind of under the table deal they struck with Haslem for opting out, he was due $3-4 million. There's a decent chance he isn't even signed by a team this offseason, let alone touches anywhere near that on a new deal.
  19. I think he's at least passable at SS, but am not sure, and I am 99% in the camp of keeping him and at the very least turning him into a Zobrist/DeRosa type "super-sub." I also agree that he probably has more value to us than for whatever he'd bring back, but you never know, maybe there is a team(s) that would value him a lot (like a strong 2nd piece in a Stanton trade). I personally doubt he's valued that high, however.
  20. MLB equivalent of "Guy who plays the game the right way"
  21. With their glut of guards I'd love to find a way to get Hardaway Jr. in a S&T for Melo
  22. Agreed. He basically just called Reinsdorf a cheap Jew. Earlier he made fun of the Cavs because Katz reported that they didn't know who they were taking yet. He's a [expletive] [expletive] and moron; a young Rick Reilly. He doesn't listen to anyone, he's just waiting for his turn to talk about the Celtics. Anything he says about any other team he kyle'd from Wikipedia real quick during the last commercial. Agreed. You can see that he isn't actively listening to anything. I agree with all of this, but I did just laugh out loud when Simmons yelled out "what just happened?!?" after The Raptors just took this Brazilian dude.
