It would seem likely that we are in the conversation. Two guys in the top 4 or 5 is a great start, plus we still have depth after that. Who would the other contenders be? All of the Twins top guys are hurt, Pirates have a bunch of pitchers but they're pitchers, so they barely count. Twins and Astros. Twins are probably the only one I could see as an argument over the Cubs, even without Baez and Alcantara. But, like you said, there's a lot of injuries to their top guys. I would probably still say Cubs are at the top, but a lot depends on how someone views our lower guys like Almora, McKinney, Schwarber, Tseng, Edwards, and Johnson. Not much to argue about at the top of our pile of prospects. We wouldn't have the #1 system, but even if you remove the big 4 (Baez, Soler, Bryant, Russell) I bet we'd still have a top 12ish system with just Almora, McKinney, Tseng, Schwarbs, Torres, Jimenez, and the various mess of low level pitching we have.
